When She Died

Prologue

"I'm giving you a chance to live a new life." Without looking at him, I could feel his vast, dark eyes staring at me with intensity, making me feel like I was choking on air and breathing deeply would not work well for me. "There will be absolutely no time limits and you can live in her body for as long as it lives."

"So choose wisely, dear." He moved the contract forward with a slight shift.

I already knew my answer well enough. Even if this was Death himself trying to convince me to sacrifice him, I don't think I'd be able to do so. Besides, I'm already dead. No point bringing the dead back to life.

"I don't need to live. I'm fine." I answered in a rather courageous voice, moving it back to him. when the things in my head actually felt like a whole mess.

"Well then, continue with your limited life."
