Jack Pt4

12 years later
Jack and i sat in the crowd with our twelve and four year old sons and the boys with their wives and kids.

We saw as all the different teens passed with their caps and gowns to get their diploma
" y/d/n Avery  who earner a scholarship to Ball State University for the career of Speech Pathologist" the principal said

We all stood up and clapped for her as tears ran down my face . My little girl was graduating high school.

After the graduation we had an after party at our place that lasted for hours .
The last guest had just left and we were all exhausted .

The kids went up to their rooms to change into their pjs and Jack and i went to do the same thing .

After both Jack and i were changed we got in bed . I continued to read a book while Jack went downstairs .
Suddenly i heard laughter and noises downstairs and went to see what it was.
It turned out to be my eighteen year old daughter looking at old family videos with Jack

" I remember that!" She said laughing
" Uncle Jonah always took me out for ice cream after school" she said smiling

" Yeah even though i told him not to" Jack said
Soon a bunch of pictures of
y/d/n started to show

pictures of her and Corbyns daughter

then pictures of her already grown up

And the last picture was one of her with her boyfriend and her brothers

" Dad are you crying?" She asked looking at jack

" No , i have something in my eye" he said
" Awe dad" she said hugging him
" Im gonna miss you my little monkey" he said hugging her

" Im gonna miss you too dad" she said

I smiled to my insides and turned around walking back upstairs .

I took a peek of the boys room and saw them sleeping .
I went back to my room and got in bed falling asleep moments later.

I woke up around midnight to my four year old boy telling me he had a nightmare .
I got up from bed and carried him downstairs to get him a warm glass of milk .

When we got downstairs we saw Jack and y/d/n sleeping on the couch
" Mommy why is sissy leaving us? " he asked
" Well baby cause she's going to university
" Will she ever come back?" He asked
" of course honey" i told him

" then why are you and daddy  sad ?" He asked again

" well because our little girl is growing up , she's an adult now" i told him
" oh" he said understandingly

After he drank his milk i took him up to his room and set him down on his bed .
The little boy was a bit sleepy again.

I gave him a kiss on the cheek and left his room. I went back downstairs and placed a blanket  on top of  Jack and  
Y/d/n. Afterwards making my way back to my room going back to bed and falling asleep once again

The only thought in my mind was that thanks to destiny or the universe Jack was back in my life again
