Chapter 16: Kyle Recovers

Five days had passed and it was January 14th, which was on a saturday and that morning at the Elmhurst-Edward Health Center, Kyle was in his hospital room asleep with his long hair in a ponytail that morning, the time was 9:30 AM and that was the day he was going to be released from the hospital and the girls were heading to In10sity in Grayslake, Abby was going to stay with her son, while Clarissa and Gianna were in charge, Abby gave Clarissa tips on how to deal with Cathy and momma drama.

Abby was seen arriving in the parking lot of the hospital and she found a parking space, then after parking, the dance teacher was getting out of her van, she walked through the parking lot and got to the entrance of the hospital and since Kyle was on the first floor, she entered the hospital and in her hand was a bag and in it, was Kyle's clothes that he was going to wear.

Dr. Jefferson noticed Abby and the two women walked down the hallway until reaching the hospital room that said "Miller, Kyle", Dr. Jefferson opened the door and saw that Kyle was watching some TV, then he turned to see his mother and doctor walk into the hospital room.

"Hello, Kyle." Dr. Jefferson stated.

"Hi, Dr. Jefferson. Hi, mom." Kyle greeted.

"Hi, sweetie." Abby said, leaning down and kissed him on the top of his head and hugged him. "How are you feeling?"

"Getting better by the minute." Kyle responded. "I bet the girls are on their way to Grayslake to compete at In10sity against those rotten apples while their moms, Gia and Claire watch?"

"Yeah, before they got in the van, they told me that they were going to beat Cathy for you today, not only did they say that they'll win for you at the competition, but the next three after this one and i talked to Clarissa and she said that we'll alternate taking care of you through these four weeks, so this week, i'll be the one taking care of you and next week, it'll be Clarissa." Abby said. "I got you some clothes from your house since you'll be released from the hospital today."

"Hopefully the girls win. Now, i'm gonna take a quick shower" Kyle stated, then he removed the hospital blankets off of him, got up with assistance from Abby and his legs were dangling over the edge, then his feet touched the floor, then he walked slowly to make sure he didn't hurt himself since he had his appendectomy, then he got his clothes that Abby brought.

"Kyle sure is a trooper, he didn't complain at all during his stay in the hospital." Dr. Jefferson complimented.

"He sure is, he's my trooper." Abby stated.

"How are your dancers doing so far?"

"They've been doing good and today, they're gonna be competing in Grayslake against this dance studio called Candy Apples Dance Center, which is our rival studio owned by Cathy, who's my rival and makes my blood boil."

"Mom, quick question for you." Kyle stated.

"What's on your mind?" Abby wondered.

"I'm just wondering, where will the last competition of the first half be at before the second half of the season kicks off sometime in April?" Kyle asked.

"Well, i've done some research on the schedule and i found out that the last stop of the first half of the season will be in San Antonio, Texas and after we do that competition, we'll head on our road trip in late March." Abby answered her son, then she headed to the kitchen to make him something and then Kyle heard his phone ring and he saw that it was Clarissa calling and he answered.

"Hello, Claire. How's it going?" Kyle asked his girlfriend.

"Hello, Kyle." Clarissa responded. "We're just leaving In10sity after competing against Candy Apples and you will not believe what we saw when we got there."

"What happened?"

"After we had gotten Nia and Chloe ready for their solos, we all left the dressing room and then Cathy shows up with her group of overrated dancers and get this, with them was none other than Kendall and Jill."

"Seriously? Jill took Kendall to Cathy? I don't know what Jill was thinking, her brain must be on vacation." Kyle said, his eyes went wide.

"I know, and if you want to know how the girls did, Kendall beat Chloe and Nia in the solos, but the girls beat Cathy's team in the group dances. The girls all brought home a victory for you even though Chloe and Nia didn't with their solos." Clarissa informed him.

"Thanks for the update, tell the girls and their moms i said hey." Kyle stated.

"I sure will." Clarissa responded. "bye bye."

"Bye Bye." Kyle said, then he hung up his cell phone, then a minute later, he got a picture from Clarissa of Kendall in a Candy Apples tracksuit as Abby came from the kitchen and in her hands was a bowl of Campbell's Chicken Noodle Soup and milk, she gave it to her son and he began to eat. "Mom, i just got a call from Clarissa and they're just leaving Grayslake after competing at In10sity."

"You did?"

"Yes, and mom, you won't believe this when i tell you this, Clarissa told me that after Nia and Chloe got ready for their solos, they left the dressing room and they saw Cathy and those rotten apples of hers approaching them and get this, Kendall and Jill were with them." Kyle told his mother as he ate his chicken noodle soup.

Abby's eyes went wider than saucers from what her son had just told her. "Seriously, what is Jill thinking by bringing Kendall to Cathy?!"

"No idea." Kyle shrugged.

"I love Kendall like she was family, but her mother is crazy!" Abby said. "How did the girls do?"

"The girls won first place in the group division and get this for the elite junior soloist division, Kendall beat Nia and Chloe." Kyle answered.

Abby rolled her eyes at the results of the competition, but was happy that the girls won first in the group routine.

"Jill's an idiot, she thinks her daughter will win more with Cathy, but she'll realize that the Abby Lee Dance Company has more accomplishments that the Candy Apples Dance Center." Abby stated.

"That's true, mom." Kyle replied, then around midnight, he yawned.

"I bet that you're tired." Abby predicted.

"Yes i am, i'm gonna hit the sack." Kyle told her.

"All right, good night, son and if you need me, i'll be in one of the guest rooms."

"Ok, good night, mom." Kyle said as he got up and gave his mother a hug, then he headed upstairs to his bedroom, changed into a tanktop and sleeping pants, then he got into the bed and was out like a light as Abby slept in one of the guest rooms.
