Peter POV


"Thank you," 

I tell the seamstress as I examine the miniature doctor's coat.

 It was Kaleb sized and matched mine, with a little "Kaleb Grayson, Doctor in training," sewn in red just like mine and the small Thomas Grayson Memorial Hospital patch on the left side.

 I quickly fold it and put it in the small box to give to Kaleb.

 He was going through his last rounds of Chemo today and I was so proud of him for making it this far. 

Maybe I'll finish the implant just in time.



I walk into the hospital and up to the pediatric unit. I wonder what his reaction is going to be like when he sees the little coat. 

I reach his room and open the door, then instantly wish I didn't.



 I drop the box when I see the morgue gently pull the white sheet over my nephew's lifeless body.
