Hey y'all I'm Venus Rowan, I'm black and puerto rican and I'm 5"1 ,and 17 right now but tommorow I will be turning 18. I'm so happy because, I finally get the chance to escape this hell hole and the demon I call my father Victor Rowan. My mother left us high and dry, we don't know where she went but she left me here with this mad man. I also graduate today since my birthday is tomorrow. Tomorrow I go and look at an apartment for me and my bestie to live in together. I forgot to mention I live in Atlanta.

Venus POV😍
I get up out of my bed and I get out a decent outfit for graduation today. I go to the restroom and take a shower and I go back to my room to lotion my body down. I get dressed and make my way to do doing my hair and makeup. I got dressed and did my hair just like this:

Once I was done I grabbed my purse stuffing makeup, money and lipgloss inside. I walked downstairs to a drunken Victor laid out on the couch. I went to the kitchen and got a banana, and left the house without making a sound.

At School
I walked in and found my best friend Karlita Monroe standing at her locker fixing her makeup. I walk up behind her and open mines.

Venus :  "Hey Karli" I said while fixing my dress

Karli : "Hey Ve , I love the look .. how'd you leave dressed like that ?" Karli questions with a sour face making me think about my bastard of a father.

Venus : "His stupid ass was sleep when I left the house, but I packed all of my stuff for in the morning when I leave." I said as I was interrupted by a boy I never really seen, walk past me and Karli with his friends. I turn my head as he smiled at me.🙃

Karli : "Ohhh chica I seen the way Lucas looked all at you." She said as she wiggled her eyebrows

Venus : "Chica ser bastante (Girl be quite)." I said as I scrunched up my face

We walked down the hallway and walked to our first period, which we had it together. As soon as we walked in first person I noticed was Lucas was in my class and I never noticed that before but I guess he is.
I walk to my seat which is next to Karli and I get on my phone scrolling through Instagram. I see a piece of bald up paper fall onto my desk, I opened it and it read:

Hey you have a nice smile here's my number text me
                 Lucas, 555-367-2315 {not real}

I look up to see Lucas looking at me smiling .. I decided to text his phone

I didn't even bother to respond back I just read the message and talked to Karli instead.

Karli : "So chica what was that about?" She asked while smirking at me

Venus : "Nothing but I got his number now and he just told me I have a nice smile and that my name is sexy." I said as I looked down at my phone

Just before she could respond they called everyone to the gym for graduation. I went to go get my cap and gown and I took my seat while the gym filled up. I got out my phone and decided to text Lucas back, it read:

Thanks and el tuyo tampoco es malo (thanks and yours ain't to bad either)

I put my phone back in my purse and apply some lip gloss and I hear my name being called, and I get up to accept my diploma. I then go sit down and wait for them to say "Nigga we made it!". Finally they said we did it and had successful years here, I get up and find Karli. Once I found her she said let's go to my house so, i can get all my stuff and put it in my car and spend the night at her house.
