I ran up beside the water front and crouched behind a storage container. Peter landed on top and gave a silent thumbs up.
Just out on the docks, I could see Savitar. He was kneeling at the very edge of the water, muttering something. I found that sort of strange, because a god bowing?
Standing beside Savitar was Loki. He had his staff in his hand, which glowed a dark blue. Wait, isn't his staff supposed to be green?
I signaled to Peter to stay put as I walked out onto the pier. The villains seemed fully interested in their water view, which was weird. I shrugged it off and yelled, "Hey, you two 'gods'!"
Savitar's head wrenched upwards, "Flash, I thought I dealt with you."
Loki didn't turn, his attention still set on the ocean.
"Apparently not, speed god!" I shouted mockingly. I got ready to run.
Savitar snarled, "You think you can stop us?"
"No," I said shaking my head, "But I can with the help of my partner."
Before Savitar could react, Peter jumped down from the water tank and yelled, "Surprise!"
He landed on Savitar and kicked him hard in the head. There was a sickening crack as Savitar hit the wooden dock, splintering the wood in all directions.
I shot forward and gathered all my lightning, throwing it forward and striking Loki hard on the chest. He flew backward with a roar of pain and anger, splashing into the ocean.
"A little help here, Flash!" called Peter, who was trying to keep Savitar from killing him.
I jumped forward and used my secret weapon that Cisco liked to call, 'The Sonic Punch'.
Savitar crashed into the water tank, spilling gallons of water back into the ocean.
When I looked into the smashed tank, I didn't see Savitar any where. He had vanished.
"Yes! We won, Barry!" Peter yelled, punching the air.
I laughed, "You did great, Spider-Man."
Peter did a flip and landed beside me, "You did good yourself, Flash."
"This fight is not over," a voice suddenly roared from the end of the pier.
Peter tensed and flipped onto a lamp post, "Okay, let's wait for the congrats later and see what's going on."
I silently agreed and zipped to the pier's edge. Kneeling down as Savitar had done, I looked over the side. The water was boiling and frothing around, like something big was under there.
My throat closed up, "This isn't good."
"What isn't good?!" Peter shouted.
I didn't have time to answer.
Out of the water came a long serpent. Its red scales glowed hot as water sizzled around it. Sharp spikes lined its back, sharper than anything I had ever seen.Fire flew from its mouth, burning the docks. I jumped and made a very undignified sound as I zoomed up beside Peter.
"Oh, boy . . . " he breathed.
Loki let out a laugh, "You lose, heroes!"
The dragon/serpent thing lunged forward, its fangs bared and fire spiked on its back.
I ran out of the way and stopped inches from the dock's drop off. Peter jumped off the lamp post and swung on a web, landing beside me.
The dragon crashed into the docks, setting everything around it on fire. It roared on irritation and shook its head.
"What do we do?!" Peter yelled, dodging a flying piece of lamp post.
"I don't know! Water clearly has no effect on it." I replied, pointing at the ocean where the monster sat.
Loki stood, or maybe floated, on the water, watching us in satisfaction. But I did notice that his face was white with strain, and he seemed to be focusing on the monster as well as us.
"I know what to do," I said to myself, "Spider-Man! I have a plan!"
Peter laughed, "Rhymes."
The dragon thing let out a huge cloud of fire towards us. I flashed forward and grabbed Peter before he could get roasted alive.
"You okay?" I asked, as we hid behind a tanker.
"Yeah," he coughed, "That was a good rhyme."
How can he even think about that right now? "Okay," I said, and quickly explained the plan.
Peter winced, "Okay, I guess it'll work, right?"
I shrugged, "Probably not, but let's try anyway."
Peter sighed and jumped up on top of the tanker, "Hey! FIRE LIZARD! Over here!"
I could see the dragon glaring down at Peter. I was actually thinking that the dragon was offended.
"You can't catch me, brainless!" Peter yelled, jumping off the tanker and swinging around the dragon.
While the dragon was distracted with Peter, I ran to the edge of the dock. Loki's back was away from me, his hand raised and pointed towards Peter.
"Oh no you don't," I muttered. I gathered my energy and flashed across the water. Drops of spray rained down on me, but I didn't notice.
I threw myself forward and smashed Loki with my best Sonic Punch I had. Cisco probably would have been proud.
He shouted in confusion and lost his control over the dragon.
When I looked back, I saw the dragon fade a little. Its body became see through and it lost its fiery sting to it.
I finally got it. I ran back to the dock and found Peter, "We can destroy this thing! We just have to get Loki unconscious, then this thing should vanish."
Peter panted, "Trust me, Loki is not a night-night-if-I-have-a-lullaby kind of god."
I grinned, "We're gonna give him a lot more than just a lullaby."
