Without You

Chapter Eight

Uma turned around and jumped onto the railing before jumping into the water. "No" I pushed through everyone and dove in after her. Uma surfaced before me as an octopus. I soon surfaced as a squid and everyone gasped. "Uma, don't do this. I know this isn't what you really want" I told her.

"How do you know what I really want? You were always too trusting and too blind to see. That's how I drugged you and Harry so easily. I told you two that you drank too much, but the truth is, I drugged you" Uma informed me, laughing. "You little witch" I shouted and Uma just laughed more.

Then it dawned on me, she's the reason I couldn't carry it. I tried hitting her with my tentacle, but she dodged it. She threw a tentacle at me, but I dodge it as well. What I didn't know is that she swung a tentacle at me from the other side while I dodged the other one. Her tentacle hit me across the face and I fell over.

"Una" I heard Mal shout and I looked up and there was a purple dragon. Uma swung her tentacle again and ended up splashing practically everyone on the boat. Mal shot fire at Uma and Uma went under to avoid it. When she came back up, I tackled her.

She wrapped a tentacle around my waist in lifted me into the air. "Ah" I screamed. "Una" I heard Harry yell. Mal spit fire at Uma again and Uma dodged it. Uma swung a tentacle at Mal who narrowly avoided it. Then Ben roared and took his coat and crown off. He dove into the water and surfaced quickly.

"Mal, Uma, stop back down" He commanded them. "What're you gonna do, Ben? Splash me?" Uma laughed splashing water around. "That's enough, you've got to stop. This isn't the answer. The fighting has got to stop. Nobody wins this way. We have to listen and respect each other" Ben stated.

Meanwhile, I was just dangling there watching them talk. "It won't be easy, but we've gotta be brave enough to try. Uma, I know you want what's best for the isle, help me make a difference" Ben held out his hand towards Uma. Uma looked up at Mal and Mal hissed at her.

Uma moved a tentacle towards Ben and Mal hissed again. Uma dropped something in Ben's hand and let go of me. I fell into the water and quickly resurfaced. Uma looked at Mal, Ben and then me and sighed. She turned around and went underwater.

Ben looked after Uma and then swam to the boat. My ring stopped glowing and I turned human again. I started moving my arms and legs to keep myself afloat. Ben looked back at me and gestured me over with a warm smile on his face. I smiled back and swam over to him.

Carlos let down a ladder and Ben climbed up. King Adam helped him up and everyone started clapping. I climbed up the ladder and Harry pulled me over the railing. We both kinda just stood at the railing watching everyone. His parents lead him to the center of the boat and he was handed his crown.

Ben put his crown on and looked up to the stained glass he designed. Mal roared and landed in front of the glass. In a puff of smoke, she transformed from a dragon back to herself. Well, herself with curly hair and a poofy purple gown on. She looked at herself and then started patting at the smoke.

Mal laughed and waved to Ben. Then she shrugged, picked up the skirt of her dress, and bowed to Ben. Ben smiled at bowed back. Mal giggled and held up her skirt. Two guards or something helped her down the stairs until they met Evie. Everyone cheered and applauded.

"Shall we?" Evie asked after having a small conversation with Mal and blowing on another sizzle on her dress. "We shall" Mal said putting her hand in Evie's. "Hi" Mal breathed out walking over to Ben. Mal stopped in front of Ben and sighed. Then, Evie tripped her into Ben and Mal and Ben kissed.
