The van finally arrived. My dad walked out of the van he was driving.

"Kate! I missed you." He said. He hugged me. I hugged him back and kissed him on the cheek.

The others did almost the same to their parents. Chris just went inside the van while looking down. He kind of looked sad.

We all got in the van and my dad started to drive. I decided to sit beside Chris and try to talk to him.

"Hey are you okay?" I asked.

"Yeah." He answered.

"Wanna tell me what's up?" I asked him. Trying to convince him to tell me why he's sad.

"I just- I- I miss my parents. I always get jealous when I see you guys with your parents. I know it's been a year since they died but it still gets into me." He said.

I tried to comfort him which seemed to work.

"Where in New York will we be staying?" Chris asked. Now, he feels a little better.

"I don't really know where that is but I think the apartment is called One MiMA Tower?" Justin answered.

"Yeah boys. That's right." Summer's dad said.

"Uh, where is that?" Kylie asked.

"Somewhere.. in New York."

"I meant, where in New York?" She asked again.

"Somewhere. I don't really know. But I'm sure Kate's dad knows where we're going." He answered.

"Yeah yeah." My dad said and they both laughed.

God, these two. Best friends already? Wow. It kinda felt good knowing that my dad and my best friend's dad get along really well.

After all the talking, laughing and some sleeping in the van, we finally arrived to the appartment.

"How do you open this?" Justin asked. Trying to open the car door.

"Allow me." Summer said. Pushing him to the side and opening the sliding car door. "That's how you do it." She added. Sounding smart.

"Go! Go! Fucking get out of the car. Now!" Kylie swore. Pushing Summer and Justin out of the van.

"Hey girl. Your mom can hear you." I said. Patting her shoulder.

"Oh well. Luckily, she didn't"

We all got out of the van with our things.

"Wow! This building is huge." Justin complimented. Looking at the tall building. We just stood in front of the entrance just staring at the building.

Has he ever seen a building before? Oh my gosh.

"Yes, Kate. I have and you better shut your mouth next time." Justin said to me. Oh fuck. Did I say it that loud?

"Yes. Yes, you did." He added. Am I really saying those words or is he just constantly reading my mind?

"Kate, keep your mind off it. You're actually saying what's in your mind." Chris told me while patting my back.

I covered my mouth and this time, I'm sure that I'm not saying what's in my mind.

We walked inside the lobby. My dad said hi to the staffs. They helped us carry our things up to our unit.

"May I help you ma'am?" One of the staffs asked. I admit, he is cute.

"I, uh, um.. yeah sure?" I answered sounding more like a question. Yeah. Yeah, he is kinda cute. I think he's around 17 or 18.
