People involved in these studies were first divided into three different groups which are a weightlifting group, a cardio group, and a cardio. Weightlifting group worked out a little more as compared to everyone else. The studies shows that the cardio group, who only exercised on treadmills were able to loose an equal amount of weight as the cardio-plus-weights group, despite the lesser workout time. The group that worked out only with weights, lost the least amount of weight.

Even though, exercise is a key part in any weight-loss strategy, but one can usually burn far more calories by eating less food than by working it off with an exercise routine. If counting calories is not acceptable, one can focus on eating lean and whole foods. By eating tofu, fresh fruits, egg whites, salad veggies, and whole-grain bread, one won't have any space left for consuming any high-calorie food that contributes to calorie overshoot.
