Chapter 23

I yawn awake stretching my arms, i shot my eyes open noticing everyone was asleep, i calmed I didn't know why I thought something was wrong but I guess it was my imagination, i sit up rubing my eyes through the sun light.
Looking to the campfire which had died out during the night I sigh breathing in the silent heavenly air, the tents were torn and I stood up to investigative as it seemed as though something had stomped over them or whizzed by chasing something, i sniff the air finding a strong yet familiar scent, it wasn't bad
But nor was It good,
I decide to venture forward knowing the dangerous at hand and I put claws ready to attack on alert.
I follow the smell for two miles until the clashing of swords could be heard, i hurry onward shocked to kind myself looking at the back of Kronos

So this is is where that old hags been hiding

I shift whilst running at the beast my back arched with my hands morphing to hinged paws, just meters away I leapt onto him chomping my teeth deep in into his shoulder blade the furthest I could get to his bones through the tough muscle, he jolts with suprise and spun around from whoever he was fighting and clawed at me, i hung tight growling viciously as a woman's furious roar invaded the air and arrows pierce Kronos' chest through his back missing me by cm's

Now there is only one Hunter I know who's that good

ARTEMIS

She stood ahead of me. Distracted at sudden appearance Kronos dug his claws into my side and threw me to the ground with a yelp, i lay still sure a few of my ribs were broken from the impact, i hold in a whimper snarling as he approached Artemis

Keep away from her you monster!! I mind message him

Me monster?! Look who's talking

I try an attempt to stand but failed, instead I manage a howl as loud as I could master to the frosty air my throat aching tormentiously.
I scan my sourounding finding a sntry lieing on the floor stomach torn open and another Hunter her legs broken as she stared at me, i growl as i saw from the corner of my eye an army emerging from a cave, suddenly Kronos smacked Artemis across the face flinging her to a clearing through the trees, through the anger i force myself to a stand leaping at Kronos, he had expected it and spun around grabbing my body harshly, i squirm hating his grip as he grinned a sharp tooth smirk before shaking his head hitting me agains the ice below, i don't waste time getting back up dodging a fist, i ran to the girl grabbing her hood and hiding her within a large rabbit hole, she was 13 so she knew what to do shuffling deep inside out of the cold to meet small, warm scared rabbits wrapped up inside, i cover it with a bush before running off to Artemis, i search for Kronos but saw that the group had arrived and were distracting him, i began to wander over to Artmeis quickly but slowed as the snow cracked uneasingly, i raise an eyebrow confused before moving the snow with my nose noticing it was ice, i froze,
i was walking on ice!?
And Artemis is lieing on it!
I crouch down shuffling ahead hearing the crunching and poping of the ice beneath me, Artemis stired and rose her head to me, she gritted her teeth ready to attack until she noticed my burned paws were the Hermes twins has sprung their prank trap

"Percy?" She asks, i nod avoiding the fact that she had refried to me as my old name,
"Wha?" She began until I grabbed her hand with my jaw pulling her to me
She winced but held back a scream knowing Kronos was near, in fact I could hear his thundering footsteps hitting the ice below

I spun around flinging Artemis to solid land before someone grabbed my tail, i yelp leaping around and snapping at him, he stomped his foot in rage as his foot smashed through to the icey water, he sprung up his other leg but ended up colaspsing that one to into the ice, i stay still scared to even move as the army of monster rush onto the ice, soon all was infront of me they were about to charge but suddenly the pressure on the thin ice broke and the line of monsters soon fall into a pit of ice
One by one a monster fell
One by one a monster was doomed to be engulfed into the waters touch. Kronos fell and i finally relax by letting out a shakey breath, slowly i step back the ice cracking again making me stiffen, i glance up noticeing Artemis and the rest was now standing watching my every move, i gulp peering over into a pool of water golden dust coating the surface, i couldn't help but shudder, i glance below me to the ice, shocked to see a fist pound against the ice, cracking it instantly. Yelping as the ice below me broke I struggle against Kronos's arm wrapping around my small body, Artemis let out a scream along with mine and I clutch to the last remains of ice my body
Qwithering in fear and shock.
I glare at my paws golden dust flaking off from my body,
I stare at them gripping the ice whimpering as the cold water sunk between my heavy fur, gently i let out a smile to my painfull face for a goodbye before letting go and dropping my head under, Kronos soon evaporated after after moments of struggling to get up without me rising to, i figure the lake must have been enchanted since I saw a figure on the ice above rushing over, i thrash about trying to get up but give up staring up whilst I began to lose consciousness before I felt my body give way and my skin tearing apart.

Artemis POV

The only boy in this rotten universe who i trusted just died infront of my very own eyes!
My guardian!
I tug away from Pheobe's grip rushing across the ice, i didn't care to notice the ice forming below me making a path, i need to help.
I kneel before the crack which had engulfed him and saw a figure floating for a moment and i though he was alive but a puff of golden dust exploded around it, i almost vomit as the dust rose, i felt somone beside me and I look up to find Pheobe, she had a cold sterm look on her face by I knew she was holding the tear in, Zane was looking down at the dust as though wondering whether he's just reforms there and then, i sniffle whiping my nose with my sleeve before standing

"Ugh we better go." I mumble looking down. Zane frowns

"What? Your gonna leave him here?" He asked shocked, i shake my head

"Thats his remains not his soul, his soul is in tartarus now, were all monster souls go." I explain my vioce cracking, Zane nods but looks back at his dust one more time before standing to

"How long does it take? You know, to reform I meen." He asks as i shrug

"Weeks, months, years can't be sure, Tartarus himself decides that." I mumble him frowning as i grab th eye hands and teleport us back home.
