(1) Chapter 14

~~Dave's P.O.V~~

Sitting in the kitchen with Dirk, an intense burning pain built up in my chest out of nowhere. I cried out and held my hand over my heart. Dirk grabbed my shoulder to look turn me toward him. "Dave, what's wrong? Are you okay?" I shook my head, not able to speak. "Rose! Roxy!" Dirk yelled for the girls but they didn't answer. He pulled me up from my seat and started taking me toward the door. The pain lessened as we got farther from the kitchen. "Hey, I'm okay." Dirk let go of me and looked me over. "What happened?"

"I don't know, man." I could now hear Rose and Roxy with our humans. Dirk and Roxy's humans were panicked about something. Dirk raised an eyebrow at the sound and started walking over to them. Rose's human had mine in her lap and was petting his hair. My chest felt better as I walked closer to the group and my human was calming down. Roxy's human asked, "What's wrong with him?" I heard Dirk's human ask "Is he okay?"

Rose pushed me closer to her human when she saw me then bent down to whisper something to her human. Her human nodded and started to get up. Rose made me sit on the floor while her human laid mine on my lap. "You can't be away from him for so long, it hurts both of you."

"Idiot," Dirk said from behind me. I looked down at my human asleep in my lap. It wasn't my fault he was stubborn and stayed away from me for too long. Rose's human worriedly watched him. I still didn't know my human's name and him cuddling his face in my lap was getting a bit awkward. I picked him up bridal style and carried him to my room because I didn't want to sit in the humans' room until he woke up. I laid him down on the bed, which rarely gets used anyway, and sat down on the end. How am I supposed to keep his ass close to me all the time?
