All Things Must End

Been two days since Mo ran,

Still no news of Arnie and his men.

Burt was worried, warned the baker,

"If Arnie's hurt, there'll be hell to pay later."

When the Irish arrived, a ring was set up,

Greetings were made, fighters called out.

Keane against Lau, first match was set.

People were busy placing their bets.

Lau and Keane started the match,

Both were boxers with very quick jabs.

But Lau saw an opening and took a shot,

Half of round four, Keane was flat on his back.

Next up was Mo's replacement, Wang,

Matched against a rookie named Lang.

Wang got confident, a bit too cocky,

He kissed the floor before round three.

AJ was called, last match of the day,

To face his opponent, Jim Doherty.

They made each other bleed the last time they fought,

AJ knew this bout won't be different.

The bell was struck, the fight commenced,

AJ acted quickly, no punch was wasted,

He knew the areas where Doherty was weak,

He punched those areas hard, hit after hit.

But Jim Doherty was built like a tank,

With heavyweight punches and counterattacks.

He saw an open space, caught AJ in the chin,

The baker stumbled back as he felt the world spin.

AJ found his balance, wiped the blood from his nose,

He had to remember not to get too close.

He knew the way to go was to wear the boxer down,

He had to fight wiser if he wanted to win.

Six rounds passed, both fighters were bloody,

Pound for pound, they were matched evenly,

What AJ had for speed, Doherty made with strength,

Both were resolved to slug it out til the end.

But with a stroke of luck, AJ cornered Doherty,

Gave him a volley of punches in the ribs,

A solid uppercut straight to the chin,

Sent the heavyweight spinning.

The referee made his count,

Waved his hands up, Doherty was out.

The coolies cheered for the action filled match,

Smiles were up for those who won bets.

After the fight, Carson shook AJ's hand,

Had a smile on his face, looking all smug.

But AJ didn't hold back, punched Carson in the face,

"I know the truth, Carson, this ends today."

Carson's men saw it, and were quick to react,

Rifles were out, all trained on AJ's back.

Lau jumped in to stop AJ's frenzy,

The baker stepped away with Carson all bloody.

"You think I'll let this pass, coolie?" Carson said,

"I'll burn that town first then shoot you in the head."

He ordered his men to tie AJ tight,

"C'mon boys, we're going for a hike."
