Eyy guys! Welcome to my little corner of the fandom. This is a short drabble that just popped into my mind a few days ago, so it may be a bit wonky.

Beep. Beep. Beep. Beep.
Their synchronized heartbeats were observed on the dreaded electrocardiogram, which was closely monitored by two nurses and one man, who looked to be in his 70's. Beyond the blinds, moonlight filtered through the window, but it is not to be seen as the flouresecent bulbs made it nearly invisible.
Slowly, one nurse turned towards the aged man. "Do you want to stay here, or. . .?"
A grunt was heard, followed by a shaky, grating sigh.
"I'm leaving them be. They're fighting their own battles."
Said nurse looked uncertain at first. After a while, she gave in and slowly led him outside of the monochrome room.

It seemed to be going smoothly. The machines hooked to the twins' comatosed bodies gave off beeps in perfect sync.
But it must always be taken into account that smooth roads will eventually break down into a bumpy, cracked one. That's how it went for the male twin's heartbeat, which gradually got faster and faster until it suddenly dropped down to a slower tempo, longer periods of his heart's diastole clearly observed.
Something was definitely wrong.
