Twenty-six

Liz POV
I walked out the bathroom to see yuri on his phone. I smiled as I walked to him

"You ready to go to the beach?" I asked with a smile

"Yeah" he said getting up and walking to me

He held my hand as we walked to the beach. We were joking around and laughing as we walked. I'm sure many people found this annoying as they walked alone but I was happy. When we got to the beach I took my shoes off and played in the sand like a little kid. Yuri was laughing at me as he took pictures. I started to feel a little dizzy so I stopped. I turned and looked at yuri with a small smile. I started to walk to him... but I started to fall. It was like everything was in slow motion. I hit the ground as everything went black and all I heard was the echo of someone calling my name.

Yuri POV
It been a few days since liz blacked out on the beach. She hasn't woken up and I haven't left the room. I sat holding here hand in silence as I looked at her. A nurse would come in ever of offen to check on her. The doctor told me it wasn't safe for her to skate anymore and she had to start taking Medicine... they didn't know what was wrong with her... why? They're doctors! They should know! I heard her door up and I saw the doctor come in to talk to me
"What's wrong with her?" I asked

"We're not sure yet. I'm very sorry..." he sighed

"How do you not know!" I yelled as I stood up

"Sir we are very sorry" he said looking at her

"Then find out what's wrong with her!" I yelled at him "it's your job do do it right!"

"Sir we have never seen something like this"

"Just find out wha-"

"Yuri stop..." I heard lizbeth say weakly

"Liz..." I said sitting down looking at her "how do you feel?"

"I'll be Okay and back on the ice soon..." she said with a weak smile

"I'm very sorry... but you can't skate anymore Elizabeth" the doctor said looking at her

"What am I supposed to do?" She said

"Be normal as you can"

"I can't be normal! As far as you know I'm dying! You want me to do nothing!" She yelled at him

"You will be released within 2 days... we think it may be best for you to go back to Russia and stay there... like you said as far as we know you are dying and we can't stop it..." the doctor said as he left

She started to lean up and try to move out of the bed

"Lizbeth what are you doing?" I asked worried

"I want to leave right now." She said

"We can't you heard the doctor" I said

"Well let's do what we do best.... don't listen act as if that is yakov... now get me out of here... I want to go home" she said

"Okay I can't stop you can i?" I asked as she shook her head

I left the room to find her a wheelchair since she couldn't walk. I went back to the room and helped her into the chair and we left with people yelling at us

Back in Russia
Yuri POV
It's been a few months since liz got sick. She's been so different. She only smiles when she watches us skate or when someone is over... but they aren't real smiles they're fake. She spends most of her time in her room (which we had to move downstairs) she can't walk anymore she's not strong enough to do a lot on her own. When Lilia and yakov make her sit with us she'll sit staring out a window in silence... She was doing this now. We were both siting in the living room in silence

"Hey yuri?" She said weakly

"Yeah?" I said looking at her

"Do you think I'm going to die?" She asked

I frowned "of course not.... I won't let you"

"You can't control fate... maybe I was ment to die yuri... I mean I think I'm going to die...." she said looking at me

"No you won't... you seem to be getting better" I said with a smile

"Everytime I 'get better' I always end up getting even sicker within a week" she said

"You have a doctor appointment tomorrow morning we'll find out how everything is tomorrow" I said

"Yeah...."

The next day
Lizbeth POV
We were at the doctors waiting for her to come back... today was the day I found out I would die or you know only live to be in hell by not being able to do anything

"Well Miss. Erendale everything looks good... you seem to be getting better, you can now try walking, with help of course, and you can stop taking your medication" she said with a smile

This was it... this was my first real smile in along time... I looked at yuri with tear in my eyes... I might be able to skate again... to go to school... to walk... to be with yuri...

Yuri POV
And this is the first time i really got to see her beautiful smile in what seemed like years... I love this girl... and now she's better... and now she's happy
