Most of the walkie apps make use of the internet and you can even use them to talk to your friends and colleagues when the internet is bad. They work even with 2G internet connection. You can even use these apps if you have a wi-fi but even then you will need some internet connectivity.
How To Use One?
Using a walkie app is very simple. Just download it from the internet on to your phone and you have to do it before you face any kind of internet problem. Once you have downloaded an app it may ask you to create a user name. Some apps may ask for your email address and the phone numbers so other people may find you. When you want to talk just tap on the contact and then press the PTT button and the wait for the response.

Thus walkie apps are good, but only problem is that they don't work where there is no internet.
