The playful laughter echoes throughout this house

On the coldest and darkest of nights

He's been gone for quite some time

His cries plague me daily

I hear him ask me why he died

My son, my son

My heart breaks for you

Your toys move around your room

Your creaking swing haunts my nightmares

I feel your little hands tug on my shirt

I hear you run through the halls

I feel that I can see you

Your shadow at the foot of my bed

I hear your screams

I hear the cries

I tell myself these are all lies

On the darkest of nights

The room gets a chill

My son, my son

Why have you not crossed over?

Why do you continue to haunt this house?

The giggling, the madness I have endured

I cannot take any more

My son, my son

We will soon be reunited

I will soon see you again.
