In this chapter, Sans dies because of a deadly illness. You are depressed, so you carry on his legacy by telling jokes. Papyrus hurts you worse than normal ever since Sans died.

Also, this chapter includes serious things such as suicide. Do not read if you are sensitive to things like this.

Thank you.

(Y/N POV)
You were walking through Snowdin forest when you found this giant door.

Perfect for practicing knock-knock jokes.

You walk up to the door and say,

"Knock knock."

(Toriel POV)
I hear a knock and a female voice say,

"Knock knock."

She sounds just like Sans.

I said nothing. She answered her own question.

"Who's there?"

She continues.

"Theodore."

"Theodore who?"

"The-o-dore was closed, so I knocked."

I stifle a laugh

She says multiple knock-knock jokes while I'm trying not to laugh.

It sounds like she got up. She said,
"It's been fun door, but I gotta go unless I want Papyrus to crack my skull."

She's a skeleton.

She leaves, and comes back the next day,

And the next,

And the next,

And the next.

Every time, with new jokes.

It continued for about a week,
Then I decided to answer back.

"Knock knock."

"Who's there?" I answer.

She was startled. But then she answered back.

"Dishes."

"Dishes who?"

"Dishes a very bad joke."

This time I didn't hold back my laughter. I laughed until I could hear it echoing off the walls.

She told more. And more. And more.

Then I told one.

"Knock knock."

"Who's there?"

"Old lady."

"Old lady who?"

"Oh, I did not know you could yodel!"

This time, it was her turn to laugh. And she did.

We told jokes for a while. And every time she laughed, it got quieter. So then I asked,

"Is there something wrong?"

"Actually, there is..."

"Tell me."

"Do you know anybody named Sans?"

"Yes, he used to come here, actually."

"Well, he died recently. And my brother, Papyrus, hurts me worse than before."

"Oh my, I'm so sorry. He used to tell me about you all the time. Wait here."

(Y/N POV)
For what seemed like eternity, I waited.  But then I heard some footsteps. The door creaked, and it opened to reveal a goat monster with a purple dress and white sleeves, holding butterscotch cinnamon pie and tea. It was the old queen.

"Don't tell anyone."

"Ok."

You shared your tea and pie, while talking.

"Sorry miss! I have to go or my brother will hurt me worse! Thank you!"

"No problem my dear."

"Goodbye!"

(Toriel POV)
I feel so bad for that child. Sans kept her from monsters killing her. He said she's never harmed a soul. I don't want her to die. I'll take her in.

The next day...

"Knock knock." I start.

"Who's there?"

"Come,"

"Come who?"

"Come live with me."

"Really?"

"Of course dear. I promised Sans I would take care of you."

"I'll go pack a few of my things. See you later!"

"Ok child."

You go move in with Toriel, and leave Papyrus a note.

(Papyrus POV)
Where is that stupid little 'sister' of mine?! I'll make sure she pays.

Then, I see a note on the table.

Dear Pap,

I'm sorry, but I couldn't take it anymore. I left to go take my own life. I'm sorry.

Love, Y/N.

Tears roll down my face. First my older brother, now my little sister? It's all my fault...

(Y/N POV)
I feel so bad about lying to Paps...but it's better to think I'm dead then alive and running away...

I knock on Toriel's door. She opens it and invites me in.

Goodbye Snowdin.

Goodbye Papyrus.

Goodbye everything I've ever known.
