I just finished my first mid term exam. It was a freezing November morning, the river was beginning to freeze over, and the grass was still frosty. The clock hit 10:00am and the teacher collected the exams from the people who had finished and he let us go for the day. I was wrapping my scarf around my neck when someone bumped into me.
"Shit I'm so sorry!" I quickly replied, but then I looked up and realized it was Shawn.
"Hi beautiful." He hugged me and we were rocking back and forth in the hallway.
"What are you doing here?!" He put his arm around my shoulder and started walking me to the back exit of the school near the student parking lot.
"I want to take you somewhere."
"Shawn I..."
"No. Don't say anything. Just let it happen." I rolled my eyes and unlocked my car.
"Fine get in." I threw my bag in the back seat and got in the car.
"So where are we going?" I asked while I started the car and cranked the heat.
"First, to your house."

We drove to my place and when I got there, there was a big Jeep in the driveway.
"Who the hell is at my house?!"
"It's me babe. That's my car." We both giggled.
We walked inside the house, as per usual nobody was home, and I locked the door immediately after Shawn entered.
"You okay?" He asked me while we took off our shoes and coats.
"Yeah I'm fine. Why?"
"I've just noticed you always lock the door as soon as it closes when nobody else is home. Your breathing gets shallow too. Are you sure you're okay?" Our fingers gently intertwined as we walked up the stairs towards my room.
"Yes. It's just a weird something I do." I squeezed his hand to reassure him, but I knew that he wasn't convinced.

I got changed into something fancier (as Shawn requested), and was fixing my hair when he appeared behind me. He wrapped is hands around my waist, and put his chin on my shoulder. I looked at our reflection in the bathroom mirror. His hair was perfectly waved, his body fit perfectly with mine. He was perfect in every way. I turned around to face him, without leaving his embrace, and put my arms around his neck. He put his forehead to mine as he closed his eyes, just resting against me.
"You know how much I love you, right?" He whispered softly.
"Of course I do. You're my everything." I whispered back, while playing with a perfect ringlet in his hair.
"You trust me, right?"
"With all my heart." He pulled me closer as I said this, our breathing synched and my heart started to beat faster.
"I love you so much Emery." His lips touched mine, as our bodies moved in synch. I wrapped my legs around his waist and he lifted me onto the the bathroom counter.
"Wait Shawn," I started to say.
"It's okay, I won't do anything you don't want me to."
"No it's not that. I think I should tell you something." He leaned back to look me in the eye, I quickly tried to look away, but his hand was on my cheek before I had the chance.
"Em?" His smile started to fade.
"Just, follow me." I hopped off the counter and lead him to my room. Once inside I closed and locked the door. I sat him in my bed and I sat next to him, face to face. I took both his hands in mine.
"Em what's going on?"
"Shawn this is nothing to do with you, I just want you to know this, because at one point or another it will be important, and I think you should hear it from me."
"Is everything okay?" He looked more concerned as the silence went on.
"Promise me you'll listen, and then I'll answer anything at the end?"
"I promise."
I took a deep breath. "Okay... here we go."
