I just opened Wattpad, yeah?

I immediately realized something was different.

And when I saw what it was...

I was plissed.

"Go Premium" the button said, oh-so innocuously from the upper right corner.

And when you click the button?

Why, you are only encouraged to join, told you'll get first access to features, and the typical deal that comes with a premium subscription

Not only will this change create a dichotomy between the Premium and non-Premium members, but it puts a price tag on your efforts in writing

If any money is involved with writing, it should be to the writer, not to some greedy company who decided to put the 'price tag' blinders on.

This Premium membership bs says you should pay money to write and read with quality.

And it will create issues; this sort of thing does that to the human psyche.

I'm disappointed in Wattpad. I certainly didn't come back for the consumer... No, wait... Customer service.

Now I have to go prepare for a musical. Then I'll wind down with NaNo. Just wanted to open up this discussion.

Peace.
