No one suggested this, I just got a really cute idea for a oneshot
Cassie X readerYou woke up early for once in your life, it was probably because you were super excited for today. Because today was the day that Cassie would be teaching you how to shoot a bow. You always admired her and her skills with a bow and arrows, and you had been wanting to learn how to do it yourself for a long time. When you finally got the courage to ask her to teach you, it turns out she wanted to know how to throw knives. So Cassie is going to teach you how to use a bow and arrows in exchange for you teaching her how to throw knives. Wasn't a bad trade.
You used some of the extra time from getting up early to make sure you looked your best (because doing the wing on eyeliner takes a long time to get perfect) and went to your kitchen to eat breakfast. You don't normally eat breakfast because you never had time, but now you had too much time so here you were eating breakfast while reading a book that you had recent got into.
Once you finished your breakfast, you put on your boots and walked out your door. You started walking down the stone path to the archery range that's near your house. It was actually kind of lucky that you lived near an archery range, you got to practice a lot. It was actually really pretty there, too, it's in the middle of the forest and there's barely any light that get's through the leave from the trees and you can hear all the birds, its really calming.
When the stone path turned into more of a gravel path, the archery range came into view. You could see Cassie standing there, her eyes focused on the target, her body barely moving, just holding her bow perfectly still with her arrow reached out as much as possible. So being the annoying but cute person you were, you quietly made your way over to her.
"Boo!" You hugged Cassie from behind and she screamed, letting go of the arrow and watching it disappear into the forest. You laughed and let go of Cassie, apologizing for scaring her, though she reassured you that she was startled not scared. You dropped your bag onto the ground, the sound of the metal knives in your bag hitting each other echoed through the woods.
"Alright. Now teach me how to shoot a bow. Teach me how to do that cool stuff you do where it goes really far really fast." You were making no sense but that's ok because Cassie still understood what you were saying somehow. Cassie handed her bow to you and giggled a bit to herself as she watched you try to pull back the string-thingy.
"Well it might help if you got the proper form first." Cassie laughed as she spoke and started adjusting your limbs. You tried to shoot the target but the arrow went way, way off into the forest. You looked over at Cassie who gave you a huge grin and a thumbs-up. You tried again and the arrow fell short from the target.
"Try to stay focused on the target for a bit. You don't have to shoot really fast." Cassie reminded you. Ok, ____________, you can do this. You thought and took a deep breath. You pulled the arrow back held your position. You let go and this time it actually landed on the target but no where near the middle. You did the same thing again and it went off into the forest somewhere like what happened the first time you shot an arrow. You turned over to Cassie with a disappointed look but you tried to make the following shrug look a bit more optimistic.
"Umm, here. Let me try to help." Cassie said and stood behind you, wrapping her body around your's, keeping your body in proper form. You felt her hands gently wrap around your's. Her hand started to pull your's back, pulling the arrow back along with it. Your breathing got heavy and uneven just from looking at her, so you can imagine how bad your heartbeat was and how red your face was. You hadn't noticed that Cassie had already shot the arrow and it actually landed in the exact middle of the target, unlike all your previous attempts to shoot the arrow. You felt the warmth from Cassie's body leave you as she let go of you and backed away from you. You turned around to look at her, she was still really close to you, her face not that far away from your's.
"Can I.... Can I kiss you?" Cassie asked, taking you by surprise. You nodded as your face probably went even more red than it already was. The two of you slowly leaned into each other. When your lips touched you felt your stomach turn, not in a bad throw-upy kind of way, but in the "oh my god is this really happening I'm so nervous and happy right now" kind of way. The kiss was short, too short. But it was a good and sweet kiss non the less.
"So, uhh, about throwing knives." You said nervously and stumbled to reach for your bag after you and Cassie parted, Cassie giggling while you did so.
