All it seemed like to Lara now that all her life revolved around Jack. If she wasn't fighting with him, then they would most likely be hanging out somewhere together. It seemed to be a cycle now. Best friends one day, enemies the next and then before you know it they're best friends again.

Lara found it exhausting, whereas Jack wasn't giving up on her, which was why he was currently in an uber at nine o'clock at night to go see her, and at least attempt to fix everything.

He hated whenever him and Lara fought, he loves her so much and she is his best friend so you could imagine why he takes it so hard on himself.

Lara was currently sitting out on her balcony reading a book, giving her mind a rest from social media, as well as trying to relieve her stress, because she's been having sleep paralysis the past two nights. The same thing happened last time a drama happened with Jack.

Her peace and quiet didn't last very long. Lara felt a presence sit down next to her, and that presence was none other than Jack Avery. It was silent for a few moments, Jack was looking straight at her, while Lara didn't dare look at him. She didn't even know how he got in to her apartment.

"What do you want, Jack?" Lara asked, breaking the silence, but never once looking at him.

"I want to apologise. Before you say anything I just want to explain. What you heard, when I was on the phone, was a massive mistake. I didn't mean it. It was just in the heat of the moment. Lara, you're my best friend and I love you. I'm not going to just give up on our friendship over this" Jack explained.

"You're forgiven," Lara replied, finally looking over at him.

"Really?" Jack asked in disbelief. To be completely honest, Jack thought it would be way harder to get Lara to accept his apology.

"Well, I've realised that part of the reason we're always in this situation is because I'm so overly dramatic and I overreact too much which makes it ten times more difficult, so I figured if I changed that, we wouldn't have to ever be in this sort of situation again," Lara explained to her best friend.

Jack smiled, glad that Lara had come to her senses, no matter how guilty it made Jack feel by secretly blaming this whole 'fight' on her. But the reality was, it was mostly her own fault for dragging it all out and Lara admitted that to herself.

He leaned down to her and lightly kissed her forehead. Lara smiled as she got a strange fuzzy feeling in her stomach that she couldn't quite explain. Ignoring it, she cuddled into Jack's side and laid her head on her shoulder, allowing him to lay his head on top of hers and wrap his arms around her small body.

The two were sitting outside in the cool breeze, cuddled up into each other while gazing up at the stars, making it the most cliche, yet perfect moment either of them had for a while.

Not so long after, Jack noticed Lara's breathing become more even, making it obvious she had fallen asleep. Jack took the opportunity to (awkwardly) find a way to stand up without waking her. Jack scooped her up in his arms and put her into her bed.

"Jack," Lara mumbled sleepily, causing Jack to stop walking away and turn back around.

"Yeah?" Jack replied.

"I'm scared," she said quietly.

"Of what, Lara?" Jack sat down on next to her on the bed and looked at her with worried eyes.

"The, um, you know..." Lara trailed off, referring to her sleep paralysis. Jack understood her completely and gestured for her to come into his arms for a hug for reassurance. Lara sat up and accepted the embrace, instantly feeling safe once again.

"Would you like me to stay with you?" Jack asked quietly as they pulled away.

Lara nodded and shifted to one side of the bed to give her best friend space, only to move right back to simply lay her head on Jack's chest. They whispered 'goodnight' to each other before instantly falling into a deep sleep.

"Morning," Jack grinned as Lara's eyes fluttered open. She had realised neither of them had moved from their last position and smiled.

"Hey," Lara replied, still half asleep.

"Excuse me, I really need to pee, and you looked really peaceful so I didn't want to move and risk waking you from your slumber," Jack announced, making Lara lift her head so he could get up and laughing.

Lara rubbed her eyes and glanced at her phone which was lighting up from text messages she chose to ignore for now and read the time; 11:03 am.

Lara couldn't say she was shocked at how much she had slept in, but was definitely surprised that 1, jack didn't have anywhere to be right now considering he is always so busy and 2, he was still here. To be completely honest, Lara didn't expect him to stay.

She got up and went into the kitchen, only to discover she once again had no food, meaning she had no choice other than to order postmates, unless she wanted to starve for the entire day.

Pulling out her phone, she clicked on the postmates app and begun looking for something to order, until she heard a knock on the door.

"Postmates order for Lara?" The woman said as Lara opened the door, holding out a bag. Lara took the bag awkwardly and thanked her, super confused considering she hadn't ordered anything yet.

"I ordered your favourite bagels for you," Jack grinned as he walked into the kitchen.

"I love you!" Lara squealed, placing the bag onto the counter and practically jumping onto Jack.

"Who knew you would get so excited over bagels?" Jack chuckled before once again kissing her on the forehead. God, she loved it when he did that. Whenever he would kiss her on the forehead or the cheek, she would almost get... butterflies. Hell, she would get all warm and fuzzy inside from the simplest touch. Jack didn't want to admit it, but he felt it too.

They didn't exactly know what it was, but something was different. It's like they were drawn to each other, like magnets. Sure they have been best friends for years, but no best friends feel this way.

Neither of them thought about it, they sort of just brushed it off, but there was no denying that the feelings were there. Although neither of them admitted it, or even fully knew or comprehended it, the feelings were definitely there.
