for telling people i like girls
for all the lies
and all the things in between
i never meant for it to happen
i only wanted people to appreciate me
because the real me
the one i ignored all these years
was never enough
in people's eyes
because maybe being different
would make me feel that
i was special
that i mattered
that i was worth things
but in the end
it was all
pointless
and i was just
worthless.
