*Friday Night, Date Night*
*9:30pm*

Ethan's POV
Vanessa and I sat on the big, comfy couch in her living room watching TV in darkness. I was half laying down with her laying on top of me eating popcorn. Vanessa insisted that we watch The Office. Apparently she loves it.

While we were watching, I looked down at her laying on my chest, just admiring her beauty. She noticed me and gave me a weird look.

"What?"

"You're just so beautiful." I blurted. She rolled her eyes.

"Woah, okay. Last time I compliment you." I rolled my eyes back.

"No, I just hate kiss ups." She said. That didn't help.

"I wasn't kissing up, you asked me what and I said what was on my mind."

"Okay, thank you. You aren't bad yourself." She smirked and put popcorn in her mouth.

"'Not bad? That's all I get?" I joked.

"You're gorgeous." She leaned in close to my face, "That what you wanted?"

I sighed and dramatically turned my head sideways. She went to kiss me on the cheek but I moved quicker, turning to kiss her in the lips.

"Ethan!" She gasped and slapped me lightly. I held her face still and pulled it to mine. I kissed her for real this time. She held onto a fist full of my shirt and I held her close to me. She kissed me back, and I was on cloud 9.

I wouldn't rather be anywhere but here, doing this, now. We pulled away from each other and I looked deep into her eyes.

"Damn." Was all I said. She laughed and put her forehead on my chest, hiding her embarrassment.

"Staaaaap." She whined. I laughed and rubbed her back. She turned her attention back to the tv and watched for a while. I played with her hair and watched her.

The rest of the night flew by. We didn't even watch tv, really. We just talked and got to know each other more than we already do.

This last month that I've spent with her has be wonderful. She makes me feel so different than any other girl I've ever been interested in, and that's a good thing.

"Come here." I urged Vanessa as an episode ended. We got up off the couch and I brought her to my bag on the counter. I pulled out her gift. It was in a little black skinny box with a red bow around it.

"Ethan... what is this?" She asked, a smile growing on her face.

"Happy birthday, it's for you." I put it in her hands. She carefully pulled off the bow and opened it. She put her hand up to her mouth and gently lifted the little bracelet out of the box.

"It's so beautiful!" She gasped.

"It's a charm bracelet. Put things on it that mean something to you. I put that heart on there. It's just a start." I shrugged. She came into my arms and squeezed me tightly.

"Thank you so much."

"You deserve it. Happy 17th Nessa." When she pulled away, she put it on her wrist. It fit a little loosely, in other words, perfectly.

"I also have this." I said, skipping to her fridge. I pulled out a mini cheesecake and she laughed.

"That's my favorite! How'd you know?"

"I have my ways. It also seems like you." I laughed and handed it to her. She took it and two forks, then skipped back to the couch.

We ate the cheesecake together and talked.

"After school on Monday, let's go to the store." She said, putting a chunk of cake in her mouth.

"I can't go to school on Monday." I reminded her.

"Why? Oh ya. Well can you come over after?"

"Of course. I'll be here."

"Good, we can get another charm for my bracelet." She danced.

"I'm glad you like it."

"I love it. Today wasn't so bad."

"No, today was horrible. Tonight was incredible." I said and Vanessa smiled with rosy cheeks. The perfect way to end that sentence would have been with an "I love you", but I can't say that yet.

Wait, what? I love her?

I love her. I love her! Do I? How do I know? I've only known her for a little over a month.

I'm crazy. I can't love her. We're on our first date for God's sake! I need to calm down.
