My Last Breath

Ambushing me with love,
You stroke every last bit of humanity left in me.

Now you're dealt to handle-
This hideous monster you have revealed.

You abandoned me during my darkest of moments,
Now I glare at dark shadows and empty bleachers.

Witnessing the black sky,
I realize I lost a love I never had.

Your irresistible charms-
Now seem like arrows sent by the crossbow of your emotions

As they strike,
I ease the pain
With a needle that soothes me.

I lye down, looking back up,
The skies are now clear-
I am in heaven.
