For Aircraft Carriers there are 4 main types Supercarrier, Fleet carrier, Light aircraft carrier, Escort Carrier.

The Escort Carrier is a small and slow type of aircraft carrier used by the Royal Navy, the Imperial Japanese Navy and Imperial Japanese Army Air Force, and the United States Navy in World War II. They were typically half the length and a third the displacement of larger fleet carriers. While they were slower, carried fewer planes and were less well armed and armored, escort carriers were cheaper and could be built quickly, which was their principal advantage. Escort carriers could be completed in greater numbers as a stop-gap when fleet carriers were scarce. However, the lack of protection made escort carriers particularly vulnerable and several were sunk with great loss of life. The light carrier was a similar concept to escort carriers in most respects but was capable of higher speeds to allow operation alongside fleet carriers. Most often built on a commercial ship hull, escort carriers were too slow to keep up with the main forces consisting of fleet carriers, battleships, and cruisers. Instead, they were used to escort convoys, defending them from enemy threats such as submarines and planes. In the invasions of mainland Europe and Pacific islands, escort carriers provided air support to ground forces during amphibious operations. Escort carriers also served as backup aircraft transports for fleet carriers and ferried aircraft of all military services to points of delivery.  Existing Ones

The Light aircraft carrier, or light fleet carrier, is an aircraft carrier that is smaller than the standard carriers of a navy. The precise definition of the type varies by country; light carriers typically have a complement of aircraft only one-half to two-thirds the size of a full-sized fleet carrier. A light carrier was similar in concept to an escort carrier in most respects, however, light carriers were intended for higher speeds to be deployed alongside fleet carriers, while escort carriers usually defended convoys and provided air support during amphibious operations. A fleet carrier is an aircraft carrier designed to operate with the main fleet of a nation's navy. The term was developed during World War II, to distinguish it from the escort carrier and other lesser types. In addition to many medium-sized carriers, supercarriers, as well as some light carriers, are also classed as fleet carriers. Existing Ones Akagi battlecruiser conversion Japan 36,500 tons 31 knots 72, Lexington battlecruiser conversion US 36,000 tons 34 knots 88, Courageous battlecruiser conversion UK 22,500 tons 30 knots 42, Yorktown Washington Naval Treaty US 19,800 tons 32 knots 79, Ark Royal Washington Naval Treaty UK 22,000 tons 31 knots 54, Hiryū Washington Naval Treaty Japan 17,300 tons 34 knots 64, Illustrious post-treaty production UK 23,000 tons 30 knots 33, Shōkaku post-treaty production Japan 25,675 tons 34 knots 72, Essex post-treaty production US 27,100 tons 33 knots 90.

Supercarrier is an unofficial descriptive term for the largest type of aircraft carrier, typically those displacing over 70,000 long tons. Supercarriers are the largest warships ever built, larger than the largest battleships laid down by any country. The United States Navy has 11 active supercarriers as of 2017. The United Kingdom's first Queen Elizabeth-class carrier is undergoing sea trials and is expected to enter service in late 2017. The Soviet Union began constructing a supercarrier before canceling it in 1991. Existing ones US Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) 333 m  106,300 mt Nimitz Nuclear CATOBAR 25 October 1986. SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING!

But in my well-known books like The last regiment and The last regiment final battle, a let my mine take the best of me with a super aircraft carrier called the dragon cliff. made by Germany to help hold the supply lines and event able to dive down 2 miles underwater.

The next thing I would like to cover is destroyers. Now, these guys were the workhorses of the Fleet and still are, there are many types that are still in use today. like the Mitscher classes witch only 4 were made from 1949 to 1954 and were designated  "destroyer leader", then you had the Forrest Sherman class which had 18 made from 1953 to 1959 and Derived from the Fletcher concept, after that you had the Farragut class which had 10 made from 1956 to 1961 and they were also Originally designated "destroyer leader". The Farragut class of the Cold War was also called the Coontz class. The Charles F. Adams class had 23 made from 1957 to 1964 Guided missile derivative of the Forrest Sherman class. Then we had the Spruance class which had 31 made from 1972 to 1980 and was the First United States Navy ship to use gas turbines. After that you had the Kidd class which only had 4 made from 1978 to 1982, The Kidd class was based upon the Spruance class but designed as more advanced multi-purpose vessels, after that we had the Arleigh Burke-class 62 of them were made and 3 more have been planned, they started being made in 1988 and they are still being built. It was the first destroyer to be named after living man. And finally we have the Zumwalt class, only 1 has been made and 2 more have been planned. the first one was made in 2008 Future class.

SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING! SPOILER WARNING!

In The last regiment final battle there is a destroy class called the harbringer. It has a massive 150mm main gun on the front and was made by Germany originally to help the dragon cliff class aircraft carrier. It is the workhorse of the 4 fleets in the book and can kill most ships with ease.

Finally we have the hunters of the fleet the Submarines.
