I yelped and jumped to the end of my bed. Daisy smile only got bigger, and she held up the knife. She opened her mouth and revealed her fangs. Slowly she dragged the sharp end of the knife against her tongue. Suddenly, she snapped it back in and giggled. Then she came towards me.
I screamed and Johnny sat up in his bed. "Kimmy!" He yelled. I ran across the room to the drawer and fumbled with the handle. The stupid thing wouldn't open, when I remembered it was on the other side of the attic.
Daisy was flying at me and I bolted right past her. She hesitated, confused at my confidence. But she wasn't deterred for long.
I reached the windowsill and snatched the letter. I held it up, and Daisy recoiled. But her frown turned to a grin as she slowly backed up towards the other end. I paused, and then followed her. But she was too fast- and she reached Johnny's bed. Daisy pinched his hair and lifted him up. He was screaming, and the others woke up, startled. Daisy giggled as she flew out the door.
"JOHNNY!" I yelled. "NO!!!" I said, sobbing. "BRING HIM BACK HERE, YOU MURDEROUS BASTARD!"
"No." Said Maya.
"W-what?" I asked, surprised.
"You told me never to let her win. You are letting her win. You are letting her win. Do you want that?" I snuffled and shook my head.
"I'm sorry." I said.
Max came over to us and said, deathly serious,"Let's find him. Let's kill her."

Gale helped me back a large bag of food. We basically took all the non- perishables. We packed another bag full of bedding and clothes.
"We should each take a piece of the letter." Said Gale.
"But will it still work?" Asked Maya.
"Let's ask." I said.
     "How?" Gale whispered.
"Like this." Said Daisy. We all turned around and gasped, and she gave a weak smile.
Daisy was clearly in pain. She was shaking, 3 of her fingers turned the wrong way. All her weight was on one leg, her face covered in scratches. "Do you have a question?"
"A couple, really." I said. " First off, are you ok? What's happening?"
"She is slowly gaining control, and I am fading. Without my willpower, she becomes stronger- therefore more of a threat to you."
"Why was she able to come into the attic?"
"When you were all a united force, full of love for each other, Daisy couldn't come close to you. Now that she took Logan, you have weakened and she has grown stronger. Now that she has Johnny, and she is at her height. D-Daisy won't stop until she feels she is equal to you."
"If we rip the letter up, will it work?"
"Yes, it's the essence of the letter that counts- not the paper itself."
"Last question- is Johnny still alive?"
"Yes. He is being held, and he is in great pain. But he is alive."
"Thank you, Daisy." Said Maya.
Smiling, she answered, "Your welcome. I have to go."
"Bye!" Said Gale, grinning.
She vanished, and we all resumed our packing. We had three bags- food, clothes and bedding, and smaller things like matches and water.
"Let's go." I said.

We made it out of the farm without a problem. Our house was surrounded by woods, so we followed the trail of blood in the snow. It was freezing, and we all had on heavy coats. I was holding Karen on my hip. Everyone was silent as we tromped through the snow, thinking of what to do when we found Daisy.

After hours of walking, we settled down. "Go collect kindling with Gale." I said to Max. "Maya, you set up camp."
I created a hearth and Maya created our fort. We had sleeping bags, with extra covers for each of us. Max and Gale came back with the wood, and I lit a match to start a fire. We all sat around it while I cooked meat. We needed to use it now so it didn't spoil.
We ate, discussing who would take first watch. After a while, I decided to take it. "Let's settle down, guys." I said.
"At least we can be a bit warmer!" Maya said, letting out a nervous laugh. Soon we all joined. Even Karen giggled. I placed her in my lap while everyone settled down.
"Guys-here's a tip... take off your jacket to use as a pillow." Said Max. I laughed and agreed. I put Karen in her small nest of blankets and said goodnight.
Gale was first. She was snuggled deep into her bag, and her extra blanket was wrapped around her tightly. "Goodnight, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite!" I said, kissing her head.
Maya was already asleep. I tucked her in and moved on to Max. He was drifting off, and I whispered, "We will get her." He nodded slowly and closed his eyes.
I sat by the fire, watching the snow fall. I repeatedly added to the fire, making sure it didn't go out. The night was dark, and no stars shone in the sky.
I heard a twig crack and swung my head to the right. I strained my eyes to see the source of the sound- and found nothing. I turned my head back around and sighed. I was paranoid.
Daisy giggled. I yelped and stood up, looking around. The laugh was coming from everywhere, so it was impossible to pinpoint.
I heard someone mumble,"Kimmy?" And I was snapped out of my daze. I looked at Gale, who was in her bed, sleeping.
"Kimmy?"
"Kim?"
"Are you there?"
"Can you hear me?"
The voice was persistent, but it wasn't from my family. It was from behind me.
I was afraid to look. I felt hot breath on my neck. I knew someone was there.
"Kimmy, it's Johnny!"
I gasped and turned around. But it wasn't Johnny. What did I expect?

It was Daisy.
I cried out and ran to our stuff. I grabbed the letter and whipped my head back around, searching for Daisy.
I couldn't see her. She was gone! Or at least, that's what I thought until she whispered,"Peek-a-Boo... I see you!
