We ran down the hall to the storage room.

He pulled open the door and inside was most of the other patients: Carl, Allison, Corbyn, Camille, etc. There was a stack of blankets in the corner- fuzzy ones and quilts.

With a stack of even more pillows, I counted at least 10 as Luke pulled me over to a different corner and sat down. The shelves were 3 ft. from the smooth, concrete floor. They were filled with canned and pre-made food, as well as tons upon tons of bottled water.

Luke got up and grabbed and blanket and pillows. He sat back down and handed the blanket to me. I took it from him and wrapped it around myself.

Luke adjusted the pillows while I offered to share the dark blue blanket with him.

"Oh, thanks Tammi." He took the corner and pulled it around himself as well. I shifted nervously.

"What's wrong?"

"Oh nothing... We're a bit close though, don't you think?"

"It doesn't bother me."

He wrapped his arm around my shoulders, naturally pulling me closer to him. I sighed and tried pulling away from his embrace.

He held on tightly, not allowing me to pull away from him. I glared at him, angrily. If looks could kill, well... he'd be dead.

"What's happening anyway?" I asked, turning to make eye contact with him.

"Ohh... nothing." He said casually, "Other than the fact that there is a hurricane outside and we are all gonna die...... every thing is perfectly normal."

We made small talk with each other, and the other patients whose parents didn't pull them out of the hospital.

Marianne and Selina were watching the news live on Facebook, while Weston was trying to help Cam calm Corbyn down.

Tammi layed her head on my shoulder and looked up at me. I smiled back at her.

"What is it?" She said jokingly.

"Huhh?" I jerked into reality, "ohh... ahh... nothing nothing."

"Uh huh..." Tammi said smirking.

She rested her head on my shoulder and soon fell asleep. I pulled out my phone.

Missed call from Mellisa

I clicked on the call icon to call her back. She picked up on the fifth ring.

"Hello! Luke are you alright? I was so worried when you didn't answer...." she trailed off.

"Yeah.. yeah I'm okay. Are you?"

"Yep we are good to go! The hurricane can't even hit us here, remember?"

"Right..." We lived in Oregon, whereas everyone else here was from Florida, and still had houses somewhere in the state.

"Is everyone else safe?"

"Yea, we are all in the storage room, the walls are solid concrete." I added the last part quickly.

"I have to go sis, we aren't supposed to be on our phones."

"Ok, bye Luke,  love ya."

"Love you too, bye."

I took a while to fall asleep after my sister and me hung up.

I was too busy thinking about the people who weren't as lucky as us and didn't make it through the hurricane. I saw slight movement out of the corner of my eye and heard the door close softly.

Tammi's POV

Someone- I think Camille- screamed.

I jerked awake and realized I fell asleep on Luke's shoulder. I looked up towards the ceiling. There was a sound... like cracking glass, and I saw the window staring to break.

A thin line slowly made its way across the pane.

I couldn't help but to watch it, completely oblivious to Marianne, freaking out, and Luke, realizing what's going on, waving his hand in front of my face while trying to pull me up so we can leave.

Marianne fumbled with her keys, and at the same time the door handle finally turned and popped open... the window decided to burst.

Everyone was shuffled into the hallway and checked over for glass that might've been in their skin.

Weston yelled from the end of the hall, "HEY, MARIANNE, I THINK YOU MIGHT WANT TO SEE THIS!" He disappeared back into the boys bathroom.
