New Artist

I briskly walked down the hall, making my way to the stage. I was already late to my own audition holding and it was all Dani's fault. I made a quick stop as I passed Felix. He was working on the soundboard and light controls, making sure everything was working accordingly. "Everything going good Felix?" I asked him with a smile. I guess I broke his concentration because he jumped a little at my question before answering "Oh hey Y/N, yeah everything is going great. Only problem is that we have a bunch of drummers and guitarist waiting on you... You're late" He chuckled out. I reached forward and lightly pushed his head "Blame your girlfriend she took forever to get ready. I'll see you in a few minutes" I said back as I started to walk again.  I made my way to the empty stage that would soon be filled with multiple people. I looked down off the stage and saw Dani and Nate sitting at the small table where we'd be picking the musicians for my next performance. I could feel my stomach slightly turn as I made my way to the table. Nate looked over and smiled at me as I approached. He stood up and pulled me into a quick kiss before turning and pulling my seat out. "Thank you baby" I spoke out and looked around confused. He glanced to the back of the building, I turned to see all of the musicians that were trying out. I slightly nodded and sat down in between both of them. I know it sounds crazy but our Label owner, Diana, thought it would be a great look if the labels best two artist started dating. I meant Nate is an AWESOME artist and he is a great friend but we both agree that it's getting very tiresome and old keeping up this act.

I looked over at Dani who's eyes were glued to her phone screen. I lightly tapped her "Hello earth to Dani" I waved in her face. She popped up from her phone and looked at me "Huh? Yeah?" I lowly chuckled and shook my head "Do you ever stop staring at your phone?"-- "Y/N I'm your manager, I have to stay glued to this baby to keep both of us paid. By the way Diana said she had a new artist coming by today to learn the ropes from you and Nate" She rolled her eyes and chuckled. I'm so tired of Diana handing over her inexperienced artist to us, I'm not a teacher I'm an artist. I looked up at the empty stage and called out "Yo Felix!" After a few seconds Felix appeared on the stage wearing his headset "Are we ready?"-- "We're good, let's go" He held up his thumbs before smiling and nodding. I looked over at Dani as she called up the first musician "Number one! Come on up please!" The first person to come up was some guy with blue and black hair. He had a lip ring and tattoos up his arms, his smile was nice but then he started to speak "Are you ready to be impressed?" He asked cockily. I looked over at Nate who just rolled his eyes and spoke out "Just play dude".

---Time skip---

I smiled up as I lifted my head from my arms and the girl stopped playing. I glanced over at Nate who was smiling wide and then Dani who was slightly nodding her head. "Hey hun, what was your name again?" I asked. She pushed her pink hair from in front of her eyes and replied softly "My name is Amy, I'm Amy". I nodded over at Dani and gave her the seal of approval. Dani smiled up and checked her name "Congratulations Amy, we will be calling you soon"-- "Thank you, really Thank you so much" she spoke back happily. We smiled at her as she walked off smiling. I changed the sheets of paper on front of me to the list of drummers that were up next. After a few minutes of setting the drum set up on the stage we were ready for people to come up. We sat through a lot of people drumming and to be honest by the 5th person they all started to just sound the same. I head my head in my arms so that I couldn't see the people, I started doing that about halfway through the guitarist because I feel as though that makes my judgment more genuine. My head stayed in my arms as the next person walked up on the stage. I just waited until I heard Nate speak "Okay dude show us what you got". As soon as the person started playing I could feel a spark fly down my arms. Something about their drumming was connecting with me, it sounded great and I just had a good feeling about whoever was playing.
