The hobbits tried to find a table to sit at in amongst the people and fuss. Rose started up a conversation with Frodo,

"So what do you think we should do now? We have mo idea were we are going, we don't know were those riders are and Gandalf isn't here!" No one answered, Rose was getting sick of this! Frodo was feeling ill so he had an excuse to keep quiet but the others? When she asks a question no one answers, when someone else asks the same question they get and answer. What because she was the only girl she was less important, no!

"Can someone answer me for once? What are we going to do!" Sam nearly had a heart attack,

"Wow, calm down we hear you, we don't know what to do next."

"Sorry, its just, i hate being ignored."

"Its fine." Next to Rose was merry who was holding a large pint of beer,

"What's that?" Pippin asked in envy, his eyes widened at the sight of it,

"This my friend is a pint." Merry replied who was very proud of him self.

"It comes in pints, I'm getting one." Pippin then diapered over to the bar,

"That fellow has done nothing but stare at us since we arrive." Sam pointed to a man in a black cape, alone on a  table in the corner. He had a strange vibe about him, he wasn't a normal man at this pub. Frodo flagged down a bar man,

"pardon me, that man in the corner, who is he?"

"He's one of them rangers, dangerous folk they are, roaming the wilds. What his real name is I don't right know but around here he's  known as Strider."

"Strider? That's odd. I don't know why but I trust him." Rose looked over at him, his face not fully visible for it was covered by his cape, he was smoking a pipe and seemed to be staring straight at them. No one would normally trust a stranger like that. Frodo reached into his pocket and started to fiddle with the ring. The metal slipping through his fingers, not yet on them. The ring had pulled Frodo into another world but he soon escaped by the sound of pippin, drunk pippin,

"Baggins? Sure I know a Baggins. He's over there, Frodo Baggins! He's  my second cousin once removed on my mothers side." He stupidly rammed on about his family line as Frodo tried to run away from the crowed to pippin but he slipped, the ring flying into the air and landing on his finger. He disappeared, he was invisible.  Doing this had alerted the Nazguls and there were now heading for the prancing pony. He pulled the ring off, what had he done.

"You draw far to much attention to yourself Mr Under hill." Strider had led Frodo into the room above,

"What do you want."

"A little more caution from you. That is no trinket you carry."

"I carry nothing." Frodo stated, looking him straight  in the eyes, Strider knew what he was lying,

"Indeed, I can avoid being seen if I wish but to disappear entirely,   that is a rare gift."

"Who are you?"

"Are you frightened?"

"Yes."

"Not nearly frightened enough. I know what hunts you!" Strider noted, the door crashed open, Strider and Frodo whipped their heads round and in stumbled Sam, Rose, Pippin and Merry, each clutching a weapon, mostly consisting of chairs and candles. All except Rose. In her left had was a shining dagger, and on her face was a expression of pure worry and anger.

"Let him go or i'll have your shanks!" Sam locked weapons with the stranger as he blurted this out. The others nodded their heads in agreement.

....................

Later that night the hobbits were all asleep in there beds (Or more like the one) Rose  chose not to sleep that nigh, the still air seemed calm enough from were the little room was, they had no idea the riders had made it to Bree...    The screams awoke the four sleeping and Frodo sat on the end of the bed,

"What are they?" He wondered looking at Strider for guidance. Rose had her own thought on the matter,

"I don't like them what ever they are, How can such beasts come to exist?"

"They were once me, great kings of men then Sauron the dissever gave them nine rings of power, blinded by their greed,  they took them without question, one by one falling into darkness and now they are slaves to his will. They are the Nazgul.  The ring wraiths, nether living or dead. At all times they feel the presents of the ring, drawn to the power of the one. They will never stop hunting you!" Strider told.

..................................

the next morning he had lead  the hobbits out of the prancing pony, Frodo was surprised that they were going so quickly,

"Were are you taking us?"

"Into the wild." Strider walked off. Merry lent over to pippin and whispered into his ear,

"How do we know this strider is a friend of Gandalf?"

"I think a servant of the enemy would look fairer, feel fouler." Frodo replied, he had heard the question.

"He's foul enough!" Merry joked, now Rose had joined in,

"I don't think he is that bad. He seems nice, in his own way."

"We have no choice but to trust him." Frodo realised as he turned to Sam who was leading bill the pony,

"But were is he leading us?" Sam feared.

"Rivendell master Gamgee, to the house of Elrond." Strider had been listening to the entire convocation.

"Rivendell, did you hear that? we are going to see the elves."
