The day it ended.

He was kissing me between class again.

We were in the girls bathroom and he had me trapped against a wall once again.

The chains still held me to him, but I could feel them breaking.

He pulled away and wiped off his mouth, winking at me.

I didn't smile. I didn't wink. I stared at him, trying to remember why I was ever attracted to him.

I followed him out of the bathroom and froze.

"Sup, blind boy." Kyler snickers and walks away.

Alex stands there. He's not looking at me.

I started to walk away from him but then I felt his arm around mine.

"That's not love. You're hurting yourself and you know you're hurting others." He says, letting go of me and turning his back to me.

"What is love, then? How could you of all people know what love is?" I say bitterly.

Alex turned back around. "That isn't love, Leah."

"Then what is love, Alex." I stepped closer to him.

"Not that, that's for sure." He said, taking a step closer to me.

"What is-"

He puts his hand out and it lands on my shoulder.

He slowly moves his hand up until he finds my cheek.

"He doesn't love you for the right reasons."

I squeeze my eyes together tight and he pulls me to him, wrapping me up in his embrace.

I didn't want to cry.

But I did. I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his shoulder.

He held me.

He didn't let go until I was done crying.

"You can't keep this up, Leah. You know you can't."

I take a deep breath in and nod my head.

"I know." I whisper
