Sophie: *frowns* The light can't hate anyone.

Nico: Well it found a way to hate me. Do you guys do everything by light?

Tam: Unless you are a shade... yes.

Nico: I am a shade now! No more light for me.

Sophie: I don't think that is how it works.

Nico: I do.

Tam: Well, good luck Sophie I am going home. *glitters away*

Sophie: *rolls her eyes* Whatever Tam, come on, I'll introduce you to my parents.

Nico: ...ok...

Sophie: *walking to the kitchen* Mom? Dad?

Edaline: *shouting* We are outside!

Sophie*shouts back* Ok, Coming!

Nico: Why is this house so big?

Grady: *walks in* AHHH BOY IN THE HOUSE SOPHIE!!!

Nico: Um Hi?

Grady: Do you have any relations with her?

Nico: Um I think we are friends? I don't really know.. We just met.

Grady: *raises an eyebrow* That's what they all say. *thinks and grows angry* Oh boy, you better me nothing like that Sencen Boy or you better hope you never see me again!

*With Edaline and Sophie*

Edaline: So who is this strange guy? *arches an eyebrow*

Sophie: *confused, then blushes* Mom!!! It's nothing like that!

Edaline: Why are his eyes black?

Sophie: *takes a deep breath* He is actually from the Forbidden Cities and ended up here using his powers, apparently he has an ability to 'Shadow Leap' to different places. He needs to get back to the Forbidden Cities so, for now, I was wondering if he could stay with us? So far he seems to get annoyed at everything but I'm trying to warm him up.

Edaline: *raises her eyebrows* So he is basically a human Tam?

Sophie: Yep

Edaline: Sure, he can stay with us!

*they head back*

Grady: KEEFE SENCEN THE MOST HORRIBLE ELF TO LIVE IN THIS WORLD!

Grady: Oh- um Sophie, I've just met your new friend, we've been getting along great! Right?

Nico: ...

Edaline: Grady, I'm sure he's fine.

Sophie: I'm going to go show Nico around. *reaches for Nico's hand*

Sophie: *proudly* This is Havenfield. We rehabilitate all kinds of creatures before we send them to the Sanctuary.

Nico: Sooo it's a zoo...

Sophie: Not really, we just protect them, and we have animals humans think are extinct. Like dinosaurs.

Nico: Huh. I've only seen animals that humans think are mythical. Like pegasi.

Sophie: Wow. that is cool. Can you call some?

Nico: Animals don't like me.

Sophie: Why?

Nico: Dunno.

Sophie: I think Calla's tree will like you.

Nico: *warily* What is Calla's tree.

Sophie: Calla is a gnome who sacrificed her life to save her people from a plague.

Nico: And this tree honors her?

Sophie: No this tree is her.

Nico: *shocked* What? How does that work?

Sophie: Do you want to see?

Nico: Ok, hold on, let me get this straight. This tree is a gnome who sacrificed herself to save her people?

Nico: And you want me to go near it?

Sophie: If you want to, yes.

Sophie: *frowns* why not?

Nico: Me and living things don't always get along. Especially important living things.

Sophie: That is sad...

Sophie: What territory. And I don't think you mean a place.

Sophie: *thinks* How does that work?

Nico: *shrugs*

Sophie: Ok then, let's go somewhere else.

*They walk around Havenfield*

Sophie: Ooh, I have an idea! Let's go see Verdi.

Nico: *shrugs again* Ok.
