Who I Am

I've spent too much of my life trying to figure out who I am,
Trying to figure out who I wanted to be.
But never did I stop looking at people and wishing that was me,
Never did I stop listening to what they said consisted of "normality."
But finally I let go,
I let go of the string that we all hold,
The thin line we are all afraid to surpass.
The true me finally beginning to gleam,
Brighter than its ever seemed,
I've never been happier,
My smile has never been truer,
And life has never been easier.
Maybe being considered normal
Isn't always the outcome we need to achieve.
Why do we continue to complain about society,
Yet remain to follow it's rules.
Let us continue to strive to become who we want,
But never letting it interfere with who we are.
