5 year old Prussia ran through the woods.

He was pretty excited today, today his father was finally letting him explore the woods.

Alone.

He laughed as he climbed on trees and jumped off them.

As he swung on a tree, he heard something.

It sounded like a bird chirping. But it sounded like it was in pain.

Prussia started to look around for the bird.

He searched under bushes and up trees.

"Where are you?" He called out.

The bird's chirping stopped for a moment before it continued again.

Prussia ran a bit farther in the woods and stopped when he reached an area of bushes.

He looked in one of the bushes and saw a yellow baby bird. He looked hurt.

Prussia looked up and saw a nest in a tree. The bird must have fallen.

"Don't worry," He said, "I won't hurt you."

He gently picked the bird up. But once he touched it, the two jumped.

They bonded.

Prussia looked at the bird, "Where's your parents?"

The bird started to chirp.

"You don't know? Hmm...." He smiled at the bird, "Well than you can stay with me!!"

Prussia carefully held the bird and ran back to his house.

"Vati!!!" He called out when he got home, "Look!!"

Germania looked at the bird in Prussia's hands, "Where did you find it?"

Prussia explained the story to his father, "Can we keep him? Please?" He started to give the puppy eyes.

Germania was not used to Prussia doing this and couldn't resist, "Fine. But you have to take care of him, you know."

Prussia jumped up and down, "I will!! Thank you Vati!!"

"Hold still."

Prussia was on his bed, bandaging the bird's wing.

"Almost done..... There!!"

The bird looked at his bandaged wing.

"Don't worry, it'll heal soon..... I should give you a name, an awesome one like mine!! I know, Gilbird!!"

The bird happily chirped.

Prussia smiled, "I knew you'd like it!!" He laid down and gently put Gilbird on the pillow next to him, "Good night Gilbird."

Gilbird chirped back.

And this was the start of a life long friendship.
