Lets Talk

Let's start the conversation that everyone shies away from,
Yes that is race I hate the people that hide from,
The truth of who they are don't know where they get the pride from,
To down another person for skin color that times done,

But that don't mean we forget history or the damage,
We just come to an understanding and hope that people can manage,
This situation is delicate most of this ran in families,
Either slave masters or slave that history is outlandish,

So I will accept the anger that either side will display,
As long as we can talk to solve the issues that way,
No more of the senseless violence really it's not okay,
We're poisoning the mind of the people that watch the critical play,

I really don't understand why people can't see the disconnect,
It creates blemishes of hatred here and the internet,
The images of all these lives lost indiscriminate,
To sit and speak words takes time and a little intellect

Agree to disagree as long as your point is heard,
You no longer have to take action to do things that are absurd,
You can sit across from each other and use your nouns and your verbs,
To hug it out when you're done, create a topic that works

We have to advance for how is this the land of the free,
When the people who live here will make you accept a fee,
You have to accept slurs or be denied for your beliefs,
I mean something has to change for you and also for me

For every culture of people for we're all created equal,
We bleed the same blood we've all faced something lethal,
We live in the world of now let's not make it a sequel,
To go back to where we're split way back in the prequel.

Whoever reads this poem I hope you read it with an open heart and open mind. We live in a separated world where people would rather use violence than words. We're all one and only together can we advance and get better. Also check out the song at the top it drives the message home.
