did you hope i wouldn't notice,

you gave me empty words to drink?

well my tongue's tasted more lies,

than you would ever dare to think.

you're not the only one,

with truth like poison in their veins,

whose ribs are shaped like cages,

holding tightly to the pain.

i knew the bitter flavor,

or a heart thats given up,

before my lying lips,

had even touched that wretched cup.

and when you pour your glass,

of words to cover what you hide,

perhaps don't leave your secrets,

clingy tightly to the side.
