*g!p camila*

"Camila, come on! Where are we going?" I groan for what feels like the millionth time in the past hour. We've been traveling in these woods for an hour now and my feet hurt, my legs ache, and my mind is dizzy. I need a break. I need to catch my breath and I definitely need to start working out. But for now, I just need a break. "Camila, please!"

"Come on, we're almost there," she shouts from her spot on the hill, way above my spot. This forest is filled with mini hills that have been killing my muscles. One after the other; they never stop.

"You said that half an hour ago!" I yell back. I only hear Camila giggle in response before she starts running. My eyes widen as I watch her retreating form. "Camila!" I cry out. She is not going to make me run, is she? She wouldn't.

"Hurry up, slowpoke!" I hear her voice but I can no longer see her. She's gone over the other side of the hill. Great. Now I have to run.

I pick up my pace and transfer into a nice jog. My feet burn as well as my lungs, but I put them aside, hoping I can make it the rest of the way without dying. Yeah, no. I'm going to die.

"It's about time," Camila whines as I make it to the other side of the hill. My eyes, however, are trained to the large house at the bottom of the hill. Or what's left of the house.

The house is complete wood and a little concrete. Planks are missing or broken from the sides and concrete floors and supports are chipped or fragmented. Windows are either smashed or just missing altogether and cobwebs and green vines are everywhere. The two-story house is by no means fit for being lived in. It looks about ready to collapse. I can imagine all memories that could have once been made in this house. Who knows just how old it is. The stories hidden in these broken walls must be award-winning. That's what makes this structure, that is barely being held together, so beautiful.

"It's magnificent, isn't it?" The sound of my best friend's voice is what snaps me out of my thoughts. I jump slightly, not realizing she had come so close to me.

"Y-yeah. It's amazing." I faintly see her nod her head along to my words from my peripheral vision. "How did you find it?"

"Google," she states simply, shrugging her shoulders. We turn to face each other and I burst out laughing when I realize she's serious. Trust Camila to find a place like this using the good, old internet. "Apparently, it's haunted," she whispers and I raise my eyebrow in her direction, a smile toying at my lips.

"Oh, sure it is," I agree sarcastically, not believing the absurd things coming out of my best friend's mouth. She raises her eyebrows challengingly, crossing her arms in the process.

"You don't believe me?" She taunts, taking a step toward me.

"I don't believe what crap someone made up and put on the internet," I counter, crossing my arms and mimicking her stance.

"I guess we'll just have to see, then," she says lowly. A smirk rises to my lips and I watch as Camila's eyes move down to them. I then gulp at her fierce look as shivers travel down my spine. It's like she wants to eat me. But she's my best friend, why is she looking at me like that? A smirk comes to her face when she obviously sees my frightened face and I roll my eyes.

"I guess we will," I challenge back.

We both turn to face the wrecked house, taking long strides forward. Camila and I are both extremely competitive; we will both do everything in our power to beat the other person. In this case, to prove who is right and who is wrong.
