CHRISTMAS DAY.

Christmas started very abruptly when I heard Ron screeching up the stairs. "Harry! Sam! Wake up, IT'S CHRISTMAS!"

Harry woke up so suddenly he fell out of bed trying to take his covers off. I laughed and looked over the stairwell, where Ron was stood wearing a woollen maroon jumper with a large R on it. "What are you wearing?" I sniggered. He looked down at his sweater. "Mum makes them," he said sheepishly. "She always forgets I don't like maroon."

Ron glanced at the rest of the presents under the tree. "C'mon, let's open these presents!" Harry and I rushed down the stairs and stared at the pile in awe. "Presents?" I enquired. "For us?" Harry added. Ron scoffed. "We've had this conversation, guys. Yes, presents for you! Because it's Christmas!"

Harry shrugged and attacked the first present, which happened to be from me. He looked at it, and burst out laughing. "Open yours," he snickered, hanging the lion around his neck. I ripped open the paper and found exactly the same thing inside. Ron stared. "No way," he laughed. "Well, I guess you are twins."

I put the chain around my neck and tackled my brother fiercely in a hug. "Thanks," Harry chuckled as he hugged me back. Ron opened his present from Harry and found a bottle of colour-changing ink that changed colour depending on your mood. He then ripped open mine and ate about half the sweets in a few seconds. "Thanks," he grinned with his mouth full.

I found that Will had sent me a dog collar. A little note on the side read, for the night time adventures you ought to be having. The tag was engraved, saying if found please return to Harry Potter, Gryffindor Tower, Hogwarts.

I burst out laughing and showed it to Harry and Ron. "Put it on," Harry sniggered. I changed form and he buckled it on. "Perfect fit," Ron marvelled, and we continued opening presents.

Harry and Ron both got an extra large box of sweets from Will, both with notes saying, I'd get you a dog collar but I don't reckon it would suit you. Hermione had sent Ron a book on Hogwarts' secret passages and where to find them. "Cool," he exclaimed. "Now I can go night time adventuring with you, Sam." I bared my teeth at him. "Hopefully?" he added.

I shifted back to human and took the dog collar off to open Hermione's present. Harry and I had both received a box of chocolate frogs. "My favourite," I declared, setting them aside for later. I then opened the smallest present of all to discover a twenty-pence piece from the Dursleys. Harry had got a fifty. "They like me more than you," he said gloatingly. "I know," I grumbled, giving the coin to Ron who seemed abnormally interested in it. "Wow," he marvelled. "What a shape! This is money?"

"Keep it," I said uninterestedly, opening the second-to-last package. It was a hand-knitted sweater like Ron's, emerald green. "Hey Ron, your mum's sent me a jumper!" I informed him. "Yeah," he said, his cheeks gaining a pink tinge. "She makes loads. Look-Fred and George have got them as well."

The two red-headed twins came trotting into the room. They wore blue sweaters, each with the letter of their first name embroidered on the front. I looked round and saw Harry had got one too. "Mum clearly doesn't think those twins need to remember their names," Fred said brightly. "We don't either, though," George added. "We know we're called Gred and Forge."

Percy then very noisily made his way through the door, holding his sweater which was a violent bright scarlet. "Nice jumper, Perce," Fred grinned. "Put it on then," George said mockingly. They seized the sweater and yanked it over the prefect's head, his glasses knocked askew as his red hair reappeared. "And you're not spending time with your prefect friends today either," George declared. "Christmas is a time for family."

"I-I-" Percy spluttered as the twins frogmarched him from the common room, his arms pinned to the side by his jumper.

I opened the final package, addressed to both Harry and I. Out slid a silvery cloak. Harry, who had just opened his last present, waved a roughly carved wooden flute. "Hey, look at this-" he paused, looking at the cloak. "What's that?"

"A box of chocolate frogs," I said sarcastically. "It's a cloak! What did you think it was?" Harry shrugged. "Let's try it on then." He picked it up and slung it over his shoulder. His lower body disappeared, leaving just his head exposed. "Um..." I said quietly, while Ron gasped. "I know what that is! That's an invisibility cloak! They're really rare..." he hunted for the wrapping paper. "Does it say who it's from?"

I glanced at the tag. "No, it only says use it well." Harry cheered. "I'm invisible!" He draped the rest over his head and ran round the room, declaring "I'm invisible!" and knocking various things off tables.

"Wow," I said appreciatively. "That's cool. And it's Christmas dinner next too!"
