It was a different encounter than usual.

He had bumped into some girl as he opened the convenience store door and it caused coffee to spill all over her.

The girl shyly laughed and said it was no biggie, but he insisted on paying her for it.

He did and the girl also slipped him a phone number, to which he smiled but threw it away after the girl left.

Little did he know someone was watching.

He went out with his beer and was mildly surprised to see some stars in the sky.

A small light could be seen from the corner of his eye and he turned his attention to it.

She was leaned against the building, close beside him and she stared into the starry night as well, lost somewhere between here and elsewhere.

"You should move on. I did,"
Moving her feet she shuffled a little and coughed a bit more, sauntering out of view.

"You wouldn't show up everyday and smoke if you moved on,"
He quietly hummed, looking back at the glowing night sky.

Oh how he loved the girl and her white lies
