He writes about beauty,
The love that he's lost.
She ran off for something better,
Leaving behind the very best.

She sings about sorrow,
The love that she's lost.
He pushed her away so slowly,
Causing her to give up hope.

He wishes upon a star,
"Please, bring her back to me."
He shakes his head, turns away,
And still alone he goes home.

She wishes upon a weed,
"Please let him come to me."
She tosses the stem, turns away,
And still alone she goes home.

Two lonely souls, too proud to bend,
Two lost people unwilling to move.
Their wish, my command,
If only they would move.
