Chloe's POV

I rode alongside Daryl and Jesus for hours. So long, in fact, that it came to nightfall, and Daryl signalled for us to stop after clearly exchanging a few words with Jesus.

I pulled to a stop unanimously with Daryl, and climbed off the bike.

"What's up?" I asked.

"We need to rest." Jesus said.

"What? No, we can't. Hilltop's not far away now, we can make it by sunrise."

"Thank you." Daryl said.

"Look, I get that we're close, but its night. We're all tired and hungry, and we need to rest. Only for an hour or so. We can still get there by sunrise." Jesus reasoned with us. Daryl and I looked at each other, and we both shook our heads.

"Look, Jesus, if you wanna rest, then fine. There ya go." I began, gesturing to the woods. "But we need to go. Now if you wanna stay here, then feel free. But we're going. Now. No more breaks."

Daryl chuckled.

"Alright then." Jesus scoffed.

"Good. Now let's go." The three of us climbed back onto the bikes and continued down the road.

The sounds of the engines were drawing walkers out from the woods, and their numbers were slowly building behind us. We were able to speed away from them easily, however.

The dark of night made it difficult to see anything, really. So, it came as no surprise to me when Daryl's bike swerved into mine, subsequently knocking me down onto the asphalt and off of my bike. I fell to the ground with a large scrape and groan, and immediately heard Daryl's engine turning off.

"Ah!" I yelped out as the burning pain of road rash was processed by my brain. Pounding footsteps came running towards me, and I looked up to make out Daryl and Jesus running towards me.

"Y'alright?" Daryl asked.

"I... I don't know..." I whimpered. "Dary..."

Daryl's POV

"Chloe? Chloe!" I shook her uninjured arm slightly. Her now unconscious body didn't respond. "Shit."

"What do we do?" Jesus asked.

"We carry her back."

"Well, if you think you can fit the three of us on one bike, then good luck."

"Then we walk. It ain't far."

"Its night, Daryl, and its not like we have a lot of weapons. She's got one gun in her bag, that's not enough."

"So yer sayin we leave her?" I spat angrily.

"Well, do we have any other choice? Look, she's a nice kid, and she's helpful, I get it. So we either need to leave her here for the walkers, or just..."

"No." I cut him off. I walked over to her body and picked her up bridal style. "We ain't leavin her."

I walked ahead of Jesus down the road, not even stopping to listen to his protests. I heard him sigh, and soon run up to my side.

"So what's the plan?" He asked.

"We get her to the Hilltop. Get her some help."

"And what do we get from that?"

"Someone who knows Negan better than anyone else."

He asked a few more mindless questions, and I answered just as flat as the atmosphere of the open road. We walked for at least a couple of hours until we realised how fucked we were.
