GREYSON HUNT WAS A bit of an unlucky guy.
Born into a family where he did not necessarily belong, eighteen-year-old Greyson had taken the first chance he could to escape his ugly roots. But running could only get him so far when the heart of his family tragedy had already swallowed him whole from a very young age. He was carrying baggage that was determined to crush him, to kill him, but he could not find the courage to let go. Four years out of town and Greyson, just barely enough a man, was still running, but now, things had become a little more complicated.
When the world suddenly turned on its end and the dead began to rise up from the ground to feast on the living, Greyson and his Korean college roommate had no choice but to flee into the Georgian woods together and attempt to survive on their own. And they managed to do so, for a little while—with the help of others—of course. Because whether he liked it or not, Greyson knew that no one could make it on their own in a world meant for the walking dead. And even more so, he knew that he needed someone to watch his back—someoneto trust—even when every nerve in his beaten, exhausted body screamed that absolutely no one could be trusted.
But trust can only go so far in a lawless world, and when a group member abruptly goes missing, leaving Greyson stumbling—bloody and dirty—right onto a stranger's front porch in the midst of an apocalypse, pleading for the life of another, his own life is changed forever.
And all because of this stranger—this beautiful, chaotic, stubborn, and fire-hearted spirit of a girl named Maggie Greene—an ill-fated Greyson Hunt finally feels that luck might turn to his side once more.
