It was like a rush of cool air on a hot summery day, a refreshing new perspective, a skip of a heart beat.

I didn't know what love was, I was only 17 years old. But I felt it. In that moment, I knew exactly what it was. I knew everything about it, as if I'd known it my whole life.

There she was, standing across the room, a forced smile plastered on her face as she watched her friend.

What is happening? I thought to myself. What is this feeling?

I knew it was real when she finally looked at me, when her crystal clear blue eyes found mine. Her forced smile disappeared to make room for her real smile. She blushed and I couldn't help but laugh lightly.

I loved her.
I knew it from the first night I laid my eyes on her.

It was like a rush of cool air on a hot summery day, a refreshing new perspective, a skip of a heart beat.
