The water sparkled like a glass not smooth,

Reflections of the sun for all to see.

The rocky cliff stood firm defending truth,

The sandy beach and ocean waves are free.

The tourists flock to run and swim and play,

A picnic blanket marks their empty spot.

They bring bright toys and games to stay all day

And find a shady place when sunshine gets too hot.

The dreamers lie on towels and watch the sky

And build their sandy castles, moats and walls,

As golden sunset smiles on children’s work,

The day complete when evening shadow calls.

Then darkness falls and people go away

Imagine castle plans another day.
