miami is tarnished and sunken; rusted and restless but— in the summertime it's refurbished. polished and clean: prosperity and the pursuit of happiness await as the tourist step in with pale promises of a green summer. it is rich and warm and we raise our sights again on days where the heat is immense and it lays on our backs like 50,000 bricks. we spend eternity wafting the ocean engulfing it's richness like a fountain of youth

sometimes we descend to the cool lush tropical wetland of the garden of eden; it was stained from the myrtle trees that once lay in autumn, but soon perished under the sun. we'd wrap our necks around tangled vines and roots and smell the beauty of the flowers around us. a hiding midnight lagoon that we both skinny dip in where Her; Eve, entangled and emasculated by the roots and trees sinks her teeth into a sinful fruit till it becomes completely eviscerated (much like herself if her parents were aware of her whereabouts)

the sun was striking and unforgiving gilded with the cast of the Old Testament God; but when we swallowed the shade of the tree and i lay my head in her lap it was warm and cool

she runs her hands through my curls and i think for a solid, single moment. i think of a trail— the green infested trail filled with wildflowers and wild violets honeysuckles and water lilies and a marsh deep like the pit of my stomach; the sun burned orange fused with a color that i could only seem to describe as Carla's Hair would engulf the tops of palm trees & i would say to her. . . what would i say to make this feeling more realistic? i love you?
