보다 (more ... than/-er tha)
The particle 보다 is used to make a comparative sentence. In the words, 보다 can be used to compare any 2 things with each other. This particle is attached to a noun that is being compared, and it is translated as "more than" or "rather than". Note that adverbs such as 더 "more" and 덜 "less" can be used along with the particle 보다 to put more emphasis on the comparision.
Examples :
주스보다 물을 (더) 좋아해요.
juseubuda muleul (deo) joh-ahaeyo.
I like water more than juice/ I prefer water to juice.
어제보다 오늘이 따뜻하다
eojebuda oneul-i ddaddeushada.
Today is warmer than yesterday.
