Sequenced, they make up "words".
Harsh ones, kind ones, funny or sad.
Sequenced, they make up "sentences".
Questions, statements, exclamations, orders.
Sequenced, they give a message.
But do we always think carefully about the kinds of messages they give?Remember that time you told someone their idea was stupid?
And they broke down in tears and you laughed at them?
"I didn't say it to be mean" I hear you squirm.
"Anyone would have realised that. Someone had to tell them, after all".
Well, it wasn't their fault.
They're fighting a battle against anxiety,
Made harder because of
your thoughtless words.Remember that time you told someone that everything would get better on its own?
And they believed you and didn't try to get help?
"I didn't say it to be mean" I hear you squirm.
"Anyone should have realised that. Someone had to be kind, after all".
Well, it wasn't their fault.
They're fighting a battle against depression,
Made harder because of
your thoughtless words.Remember that time you told someone that if they ate all that they'd get stuck in the doorway?
And they thought everyone perceived them as fat?
"I didn't say it to be mean" I hear you squirm.
"Anyone could have realised that. Someone had to crack a joke, after all".
