then temporary february
a parched march, under hopeful arches
your eyes grow hateful, a wasteful april
a gray may making the day go astray
soon june, all these inopportunities
fly right by, july with a world gone awry
the longest august, you hope to find solace
in september, remember, you tried to defend her
october is over, the weight on your shoulders
is the center of the flame, the ember in november
surrender to frozen december, attempt to be better
this january first, it's not necessarily the worst
try your best for the rest of the year
and if you can't, if you grow withered, and scant
it's okay, we'll find a way
next january first, arbitrariness at work
you'll be amazed at what we've attained
no matter the weather, together we'll stand
hearts aflame for a life full of cheer.
