Chapter Three-Answers Before Questions

At a loss for words I stare into the screen as my mind filled with questions about Jordan and if it connected to whatever Ivan said. I wonder if I should even tell Gia let alone the police. I know I need to play this right. If Ivan is behind Jordan's suicide then I need to be careful. "Hey dude. Can we meet up I'm bored rn?" I text back and get a response immediately "yeah man where do u wanna meet up?". "Behind the church in 30 minutes" I text back. "Yeah sure I'll bring some chips too." Ivan texts back quickly. I quickly get up and grab my pocket knife just in case. And I get on my bike and rush over to the church. I arrive there early. Too early. I wait over half an hour waiting for Ivan to show I start to rethink the situation and doubt starts to creep in and I start to think maybe it was just a suicide and that's all and maybe Ivan didn't have anything to do with it. As I finish my thought I see Ivan on his bike coming eve closer to me. "Speak of the devil." I say under my breath.
The sound of a tire screech blares through air followed by Ivan wiping his face "hey dude it's really hot out today huh?" I stare him down. He doesn't seem to be carrying anything lethal but he's big so I don't let my guard down. "Yeah it sure is" Ivan looks at the liquor store then back at me. "Wanna go grab a soda? I'll pay." I stare him down. "Do you know anything about Jordan's suicide today?" Ivan looks at me straight in the eye and smiles. "Now why would I know about that?""Don't answer my question with a question. Do you or do you not know about his suicide!?" I ask more angry than scared.
"Hey keep your voice down and I'll tell you." I pull out my pocket knife and I pop out the blade. Ivan looks at it and laughs "if you stab me with that thing you're going to have more to worry about than grades and making the team." My hand starts to shake. "Look you're shaking! What the fuck are you gonna do? Butter my fucking bagel with that thing?" Ivan says as his smile grows bigger. "Tell me what I want to know now." I say as I stare him down. Ivan picks up his bike. "Be thankful he was competition." Ivan gets on the bike and puts his helmet on. "He was Gia's boyfriend!" I scream. "And? You can't have a rainbow without a little rain right?" Ivan gets on his bike then starts to pedal away "see you in practice tomorrow!"
