                       Chapter two

Every word I spoke to Davis I fought back my tears as I told him I would be moving.

Once I finished he leaned over to give me a hug which I graciously accepted. But I couldn't stop the tears any longer as they rolled down my face onto his shirt.

We stayed hugging for a long time.
He eventually pulled away and looked out the windshield then turned to me.

"Lils everything is going to be okay." He reassured. "
"Once you and your family get settled in and your father doesn't need your help with the cattle anymore, you, Bella, Cash and Monty can come back home."

"I guess your right," I sigh. "but that might be still a couple of months till I could even think about coming back home."

"Where would I even live? Where would my horses live?" I quickly added.

"They could stay at my place, Jacks could use a few friends." Davis says

A small smile on my face.

"And you could live with my sister; she could use a roommate." Davis beams. " See it all works out great."

I appreciate the positive attitude but I'm still feeling down but I don't let that show. I smile back at him. But my heart sinks.

The days following of me finding out we are moving I try to do my normal day to day life but knowing that this is all going to change in a month. Made it hard.

On top of everything else. I found out today that we will be moving two days after my high school graduation! Literally the worst week of my life. A little dramatic but this move is dramatic, I think.

Luckily for me Davis is coming over to to do some roping with me. Hopefully that will get my mind off things.

As I sit at the kitchen table throwing myself a pity party I realize that I'm not in the right attire for roping. I race up stairs into my room throwing on the first pair of older jeans I find and a tee I don't mind if it gets dirty.

Just as I reach the bottom step of the stairs a knock comes through the front door. I open it up to see Davis in the usual baseball cape, plan tee, more looser jeans today and his cowboy boots. I smile but with a glare in my eyes.

"I'm sorry I'm late, but I know for a fact you just came from in your room from changing." He says matter of factly.

I act complete surprised and pretend I'm hurt by what he said.

"You speaks lies." I say with a sly smile.

"No, no I speak truth." He fires back.

I know I won't win cause he's right. I stare at him for a second but then go straight to putting on my boots.

We head towards the pasture but first I run into the barn and grab halters.

I give Davis Cash halter and I take Bella's. Cash is shining with his sorrel colour in the sun and Bella is well not, because she a bay. Cash is sightly taller then Bella but Bella is faster! I can see they are close to the gate, thank goodness I wasn't in the mood to walk.

Once we bring them in the barn we both go straight to grooming. I'm done grooming before Davis and go and grab my roping saddle which is a beautiful, but also a beast.
