Today was the day. The day my life would change. I could barely sit still. The chatter of students filled the air of the bus. I tapped my foot anxiously against dark floor. My books clutched tightly to my chest.
The bus came to a stop in front of my street corner. I shot up out of my seat, practically running off the bus. I was all but sprinting to my house to see where my future would take me.
I had applied to seven colleges abroad. I had gotten responses from five of them, all of them were rejection letters. Guess I'm not going to be spending too much time in Spain or Greece.
I nearly tripped as I stopped in front of my mailbox. I grasped the handle and tugged it open. I pulled out the contents, rifling through the bills and coupons in search of my letter. My eyes landed on the crisp orange envelope. Printed on the envelope was Anchor's Haven University. This was it: my future.
I ripped open the envelope. I silently pleaded with whatever god or mystically being was out there that I got in. The envelope fell out of my hand as I read the letter.
